I don't think Tigrounette's done with vertical scrolling just yet - and judging by the fact the event map is defilante with vertical scrolling I think we'll possibly get it too if we beg nicely ;_; I sure hope so, but 1600x800 still has a lot of possibilities that I'm pleased for, even without tokens.

Yes, just add an H="800" attribute to the <P /> tag of your XML. Topic-473024

...the xml makes me think so. The fact that none of them scroll automatically like defilante maps do or have any defilante tokens in them is another good indicator. Unless I'm overlooking a map or something?

Oh right, I just looked it over and they don't, I must've got confused. Either way, I hope that defilante and vertical scrolling is fixed somehow, although I can imagine the slew of issues with offscreen-dying on it.

Not to be rude or anything but I feel like these new recruites are more to do with getting to know them instead of their opinions in how maps are evaluated. Not picking on Shamo though he is my friend and he kinda/probally did deserve it. I don't get the point of having a Mapcrew tbh. Anyone who is mature enought should be able to be a mapcrew. The rest of the application is just noncence because it's all opinion based. That's what my main point is actually about. I don't see why people who do the application over and over again do not get picked. It actually shows 1) Commitment 2) Confident that you're a really good evaluator.

I think that the rules should be a little tweaked because this game seems to be dropping down the hill after a lot of incidents with the mods/sents.

We use the reviews mainly to see if they put effort, read the app requirements, actually tested the map well enough, know the perm requirements, and aren't really crazy in their thoughts(lets p4 the really hard bootcamp map what????).

Applying over and over and getting denied usually happens for other reasons than just their reviews.

So I'm not map crew but I gotta say this.

Just because the game is missing staff doesn't mean you have to lower your standards. That's like an accounting firm losing it's best accountant, and hiring someone who has no accounting experience to replace him. I don't know what kind of logic this is, but it's in no way, shape or form GOOD logic.

To add on to what the others have said, I've always been of the opinion that you can't give someone powers if you don't know them well enough, so of course that has to be a part of it at least.

Someone could give the most amazing application ever to become a mod, but you wouldn't give them the power to ban people if you don't know the applicant on some kind of closer level - they could easily abuse it or simply have lied their way through the application.

Beachking a dit :
Anyone who is mature enought should be able to be a mapcrew.

Anyone that is mature enough can apply in a structured and well thought out way.

Beachking a dit :
The rest of the application is just noncence because it's all opinion based.

You say "the rest" without ever really talking about a specific part of the application, which bit do you mean is opinion based?

Beachking a dit :
I don't see why people who do the application over and over again do not get picked. It actually shows 1) Commitment 2) Confident that you're a really good evaluator.

This was the third (fourth?) time I'd applied for Map Crew/Vote Crew since the team was founded. I actually saved my past applications and compared them to this one and can see big differences in both the way I worded things and general content of my application.

If someone applies over and over again, there's obviously something wrong since they got rejected and they have to sort that problem out and improve.

Just throwing it out there, I had applied a couple times before VoteCrew was around and didn't really get hired in till then.

I don't have much to add but I can tell you the applications were thoroughly looked through when I was on the team and not once did I see someone denied from bad reasoning of some members and keep in mind if a MapCrew or even VoteCrew member isn't doing their job well they can still be removed from the team if members don't feel they're qualified enough in reviewing/voting.

Also, I didn't really know anyone on the team till I joined. The only person I knew on any staff team was Katty (Katburger), so the applications aren't all based on knowing someone and a friend once told me knowing someone on a personal level can actually hurt your chances sometimes.

I would love to hear this list of people, by the way. I'll be rubbing my mits together.

Championrs a dit :
I feel that votecrew members shouldnt be private.

Votecrew members cannot represent the mapcrew, because the mapcrew is seen as staff. And staff can't be younger than 18 years of age. This means if people know the votecrew members, they can ask them the same things as the mapcrew members ingame and on the forums and consider them to represend the staff. And that is exactly what the votecrew isn't allowed to do.

As long as they don't represent the staff, they can be answering anyone like players/mapmakers. But not as staff members, nor help you with perming maps.

On top of what Harm said, I think it's for the best votecrew remains private. Some people want to be strictly votecrew, vote on maps and not deal with the public's harassment and "perm the mapas i fasso."
