This week marks the 2nd anniversary of the Spiritual Map Team (as well as the creation of this entire thread!), and it so happens that we have some new important updates to tell you about! While Kurtwild is resigning from the Spiritual Map Team, we do in fact have someone joining it: please welcome Bigerrol! We also have some rule changes to mention: first off, we are raising the map submission cap! Everyone is now allowed to submit up to 10 maps per checkpoint cycle! However, from now on you can only submit maps that are your own. This is to ensure that all submitted maps belong to active mapmakers, and this will make reviewing much easier for the team. All of these rule changes are effective to all submissions after this post. Now with all of that said, here are the results of the latest review!

High Difficulty Maps (6-10):
Accepted:
Xorcist: @7208230 - Difficulty 7
Uhuge: @6845404 - Difficulty 7
Xorcist: @3997864 - Difficulty 9

Rejected:
Everblloom: @7236777 - It’s frustrating to make a stable solution since you have to rely a lot on balloon-anvil ships. The shaman cage design is not made well since it forces you to slide down its slope every time you spawn an object. Worst of all, this map is too similar to a current one in rotation (@2408475).

Everblloom: @7235461 - While this map isn’t necessarily boring to play, it features a swing concept in a way that is not memorable or unique enough. Unfortunately this is too generic for it to be accepted.

Yinjackson: @7253125 - Even though there is room to make some interesting builds on this map, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s very similar to another map in rotation (@3489883).

Xorcist: @4341495 - While this map can be entertaining to play, its design certainly could have been made better. It is far easier to jump to the mouse spawn instead of building directly to the mice, and that lets you avoid confronting the wind head-on as you sham. If this map is to be accepted, it needs to be well-balanced and it should also offer something more unique since we already see this concept in high diff maps.

Tdft: @7277598 (Re-exported) - Difficulty 5
Gamog: @7112373 - Difficulty 3
Gamog: @7181236 - Difficulty 2

Rejected:
Xorcist: @7208227 - This map is okay, but at this point its concept has been overused in maps of this difficulty. The content isn’t exciting enough to justify this being added to spiritual.

Kay: @569323 - This map is way too straightforward, even for a low diff map. Not only is it boring to sham on, but it gives no incentive for anyone to be innovative.

Gamog: @7173010 - Not only is this map unbalanced since it’s easier to take the bottom path, but it’s also not very dissimilar from at least one existing map in rotation anyway (such as @596640).

Plubio: @7196277 - It is possible to solve the map without having to ever block the cheese or hole, so that says a lot about the effort (or lack thereof) that was put into the design. The mice have the capacity to troll the shaman by pushing the wood ground and the map overall is too short to support any kind of exciting gameplay.

These particular issues have already been fixed in the past. @237584 is the new code for @191222, and Map 40 was removed from rotation last year. The only way you're seeing these maps still play in rotation is because you're not playing in *#spiritual. For some reason non-international spiritual rooms don't update properly, and that is a problem only Thewav can fix. Sorry for the inconveniences with the module, but currently this one is out of my control.

Rejected:
Plubio: @6120122 - While the map is not mono-solution it lacks room for innovation. There are other solutions available but it's not completely balanced with the rune base.

Force_Shaman: @4372661 - This concept works great for divinity but unfortunately it doesn't work for spiritual. The ability to use c completely breaks the concept since you can extend a plank to the cheese.

Makudomakudo: @7270539 - The map includes concepts already common in the spiritual rotation and is visually unappealing due to the varying size of the grounds.

Attomake: @7280773 - The map lacks room for innovation. There's not enough ways available to solve the map.

Low Difficulty Maps (1-5):
Accepted:
Iulianbuhai: @4624694 - Difficulty 3

Rejected:
Eyux: @7111118 - Map maker shouldn't strain his brain cells. Timer poses little/no threat due to spawn locations and the map layout. Shaman can easily wait for timer to expire and solve this generic map quickly with b nail solutions. Floating box is pointless.

Uhuge: @5677775 - Map is rejected due to unbalanced gameplay: majority of shamans will build under the terrain because it is significantly easier. Furthermore, the solid plank is unneeded due to access to b nails.

Edgarmgmgmg: @7282346 - The map is rejected due to poor design quality (unaligned terrains), genericness, and limited building options.

This includes maps added to posts made before the checkpoint. @7305339 will be added to the monthly review, but @7320176 will be ignored. Remove @7320176 from the post and resubmit it in a new post after the checkpoint if you would still like it reviewed.

Rejected:
Uhuge: @7285057 - The map is not balanced enough since it’s much easier to use balloons than any other stabilizing method.

Uhuge: @7285063 - The design of the map greatly limits the amount of possible solutions. It gives little opportunity for innovation or creativity.

Cichacz555: @7296768 - The fake ground on this map is very confusing since it does not act like an anti-cloud. The design of the map makes it incredibly tedious and frustrating to pull off in 2 minutes. Although we added the hole for you on this map using another code (@7306157), you should always make sure to submit maps that are possible to complete. This one isn't.

Anthonyjones: @7305285 - The map is unbalanced since it’s easier to build around the cloud than to come up with innovative solutions.

Jackyyip: @7305339 - The gameplay is unbalanced since it’s far easier to make a solution using a rune than anything else. Also, building to the cheese is nearly mindless, even if there is wind.

Low Difficulty Maps (1-5):

Rejected:
Uhuge: @7000898 - There is little incentive for players to work with the lifted plank since it takes less effort to build around it. As a result, this map has unbalanced gameplay. It still offers some interesting gameplay for inexperienced players but the concept needs to be reworked on a different design.

Uhuge: @6002051 - This map is basically monosolution since its design forces you to take only one path. The gameplay is not balanced enough for there to be any incentives in exploring different building routes. Even with the use of the one-way grounds, this map doesn’t really offer any exciting content.

Bigerrol: @7288253 - The map design limits any sort of innovation you could make since it forces you to take a single route. The symmetry of the design forces you to repeat the same solution on both sides of the map, and having a no-b restriction on this map doesn’t really do anything since there are already so many grounds to use for stabilization. The map layout would need a rather large change if this were to be considered for rotation.
