if you mean like why the mouth and eyes are colorless
then you have to use a pen tool or whatever tool that you use to color them white

Make a layer underneath your other colors, and paint white in the areas where you want it to be white. (Well you can also do this on the same layer as the brown anyways)


You can preview which parts need to actually be painted white by making a new layer underneath everything in blue or red or something


Look now you can see all the parts you never actually colored in (the whites) and some color leaks too!
