I can ask Fay what the change was for. I think it was just to fix lag but I'm unsure. So if you're curious I can just ask her.

Aren't maps with traced images that are copyrighted (example: Facebook logos, Twitter logos, anime/cartoon characters) considered copyright enfringement due to art theft? Last I heard, /music was removed for this. Shouldn't maps with COPYRIGHTED OBJECTS be even more of an issue?

I think there's some line on the ToS where player's content is not Atelier's responsibility. But I would be wrong on the matter and not know much.
As long as the issue hasn't been adressed by game developers, don't see much of a problem in these maps.

I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere that copyrighted objects in the game are fine as long as Atelier801 doesn't get money out of it. It's like the Minecraft Pickaxe/Creeper and My Little Pony's objects in store: they can only be bought for cheese and not for fraises.

Whether it's for commercial or Copyright related stuff, anything which is done or posted in game is the property of Atelier 801 SARL. That also means the admins can do whatever they want in their own stuff as long as it isn't against the Copyright itself.

Commercial and Copyrights are both related: if you use someone else's work to make money out of it, that's copyright enfringement, if you use it for your own, there's no problem in it since the copyright is respected.

And I'm pretty sure Atelier801 follows the "droit d'auteur" in favour of the Copyright as France is a country of the civilian law and not the common law where the Copyright is favoured.
