griffincraft a dit : from earlier pages, this person called Fierying did a critiques on canines. I think it will help you, just going to nitpick what important parts she said -- Fierying: "canine anatomy... 1stly, study the shapes of a canine, i id some explains of it before, just taking various pictures of the species and getting the shape, then trying out different poses, once you got the hang of it, then try redrawing the canine again ouo (or simply googling dog anatomy and just see how the exterior kinda works) Looking at the references, canine heads dont go up, they go forward. Also canine ears dont face side ways, they face to the front o/" Her crit can be found at pg 189. so yea |

^Yes, I saw it. The ears are facing forward though. I would like someone to redline it though, it would be more helpful to me :/ |

griffincraft a dit : Chawee would do a better job, but here's my redline. Most of what I would point out can really be gathered from looking at pictures of canine anatomy, as suggested previously. • The neck is really far back and awkwardly positioned. I don't think canines can hold their heads back so far while looking forward. • The ears droop forward. From what i can tell they also look like they're a little close together. • The eye is a little too big, although that's a stylistic choice. • Snout is too long and thin. • Mouth is too short (someone correct me on this) • Overall needs some rounding out. Lots of fur, y'know? I'm not super familiar with canines, so if anyone wants to disagree with something I said or has something to add, that would be helpful for both me and Griffincraft. |

^Thanks! I did notice about the big eye, though. That was a little bit of trouble I had, since I made the eye first.. ew xD Thanks anyways ouo |

Just to help you guys out a bit, the muzzle was actually close to being correct, it just looked a little out of proportion due to the forehead and neck. But it really depends on the type of wolf. For example: Red wolf (A skinnier muzzle) To a Grey wolf with a thicker muzzle What would fix the lip/mouth line would be to bring it a bit lower. In most canines, including wolves, the bottom jaw is almost completely covered by the upper jaw's skin. See here: Hope this helped a little c: |

^Woo I got the muzzle right ;D; I am sketching a Maned Wolf, I want this bit critequed before I continue. I actually made it “Maned”, not with only those tufts of fur on the scruff. I also did look up for pics of one, looked at the anatomy, etc. So yeah ovo |

griffincraft a dit : you have another neck issue they're not humans. |
Shastabby « Citoyen » 1406507040000

Yes, the neck should not be that slim and up-right. Also, when you draw the face, there should be more of an angle where the forehead and muzzle meet. That's known as the "stop". |

^I try doing the corner there, but I fail a lot, that’s why I end up doing it smoother >.< Also, Satash, I dont draw humans. All that is the fluff of the mane, not the neck |

griffincraft a dit : you completely missed the point look at pyrubble's example the neck |

You have a neck issue. Animals have necks. |

That neck is out of this world wonky. If anything, the "mane" would make it thicker, not thinner. |

May I have some critique on this? I mainly need help on the legs. Dernière modification le 1406532120000 |

^ Katsatuma, i did this thing that will hopefully help you, so here; ( sorry for that i didn't particularly critique on the legs, but i drew them so you can see them under the skirt a bit) So, the first thing i noticed was the head's size, which is almost as big as the whole body, which i think is too big, even if the girl in the pic is supposed to be a chibi (and that doesen't really look like a chibi to me) . The second thing i noticed was that the dress doesen't have any wrinkles/layers on it. Also, the other hand doesen't show, even though in that position, it should. And about the toes, they look too spiny to me. Btw, i didn't draw the flame thing because i didn't know how it was supposed to look like. So here, i hope this was helpful and if somebody feels the need to correct me, feel free to do so. [size=9]sorry if this sucks, i haven't really been drawing humans lately and yeah, could i get some critique on this though it's just a sketch Dernière modification le 1406578860000 |

Mistalee a dit : Thank you very much! This has been really helpful. The thing about the feet and the hands...i could have avoided them as originally I was planning to have a lineart around it but then removed it which is why the second hand isnt clearly visible and the toes are spiny. I also have no clue on how to do the wrinkles in the clothes. But again, thank you, your critique is very helpful. I'll redraw her. and no shes not a chibi |

Okay, I started a drawing yesterday. It's a kind of ''Imaginary mouse-bird'', if I can say it like that. Still a WIP : I'm proud of this drawing. I just started to put colors today so I want some critiques before finish it. |

yectorah a dit : I'll critique based on character design junk! First of all, when I first saw it I wasn't sure of the species, I was thinking something mammalian combined with reptilian The 'feathers' look more like spikes or hard plates or something you might see on dif lizards or dinosaurs, and the feet don't really look all that birdy. I could think of them as stylized reptile feet. What type of bird? Look up different feet of birds of prey. The 'toes' are often skinnier, with ball shaped joints. There should probably be a backclaw. (one that doesnt point up) You can certainly stylize it to be fatter (It could work if you want your character to look more bottom heavy/rooted to the ground more!) You can simplify it by adding kinda lines/ridges to the feet to sort of emulate the texture of bird feet. You can even make it look a lot more like bird feet by not making as much of a disconnect between the claw and the footflesh. Example of stylized bird feets by Purplekecleon.deviantart Anywho, enough about feet. Those feathers, they don't really look like feathers, more like spiny lizard plates. Go google some pictures of feathers! If you're going to have such big feathers on your character, you can work on making them look more detailed. Or if you just want an overall feathered look, it'd possible with them being smaller. Take a look at these shaggy feathered hella cool birds. I figure you weren't really aiming to make an exact mouse + bird hybrid, but instead make an imaginary creature inspired by both mice and birds, but it can be very interesting to push some of those existing animal qualities a bit more! |

The feet, I didn't really want to make it look like a real bird but I will see if it will be better. For the feathers, I will try to focus on them for the coloring, Especially the big ones on the head and the arms. I think I will remove the scarf on this neck and maybe change the face. Thanks for this critique Vulli, it's really helpful. |

-- Haven't asked for critique in awhile! • The first one is an adoptable I bought, so don't mind the wacky design. (It's a wolf-dog- thing, hah.) • Second one was a request from my thread. (Secretmiss) Please help! I'm in need of a good critique to keep me up and running! X3 Dernière modification le 1406692320000 |
