Was my map refused? @4048698

Yes or No?
Because it was P1 (when entered in the discussion) and is now p22?

You were already answered that awhile ago. It's still in discussion. It was P22 because sham can crash map but this wont matter in P7

What are the options available to me for P4 submissions if my map was initially judged to be "too difficult"? Am I allowed to contest it if I think it's really more of just "new", rather than "too difficult"? Am I allowed to seek the opinion of different map crew members, and perhaps get enough of a consensus to overrule what was initially judged on my map?

[By the way, I think the "too easy/too hard" reason to decline maps is not really a solid basis in just itself because it really would depend on the perception of individual map crew members. This may often result in inconsistencies in decisions. For example, I personally think @223412 is more difficult than @232697. Yet in an odd twist of fate, the former was rejected for being too easy, and the latter was rejected for being too difficult.]

From what I know you can't submit a map to a contest that has been submitted to a thread. and yes you can take your map to another mapcrew I do so all the time because aqva's P5 reviews are poor compared to finalnova's.

I don't know about the too hard thing however

At Mousechris' reply, you misinterpreted Seeteegee's sentence as he did not mean he wants to submit his map to a contest, but rather he wants to contest/fight/argue the decision.

To answer that question, you're free to reply to the Map Submission topic but you can expect your post to be ignored there as we don't initiate any discussions on there. A better way would be to approach an individual member of Map Crew ingame or on our IRC channel (#mapcrew).

You're always welcome to submit your maps to a Map Crew member currently online. If one of us deems your map suitable enough for rotation we might put it up for discussion, but no promises can be made here.

Too hard and too easy are indeed individual opinions, but then again we review the topics at hand individually. Every single line of feedback / reviewing we write for a map is basically individual. Hence, feel free to approach another member of us.

If the hard mode on P8 thing sticks, will P8 be re-reviewed to be a little less difficult/add necessary edits for planks to go through and et cetera?

It's a bit soon to be answering such questions about the update considering there hasn't been much said about it, or at least as far as I can tell.

If the update sticks around I'm sure some maps will be re-discussed for edits and others won't, but for now I don't think anything will be done about it considering the possibilities that this could be removed/a bug.

In-till further notice, my guess is players are just gonna have to deal with it for now.

If a player decides to go on hardmode why should the map be re-edited to be easyer for them when it's saposed to be harder? plus it's not like they can't figure out they're going to go on a duel shaman map 1 map before, it's 100% acurate that P7 comes before P8, so if they don't want to be hardmode on a P8 they could just change on a P7 map.

P8 was reviewed for Easy mode shamans, with no consideration of hard-mode. Some of these P8 maps it'll be (near) impossible for normal players to stablize, or even build.

Hard-mode is meant to be hard, not impossible.

Here are a few examples below.

@263777
@742744
@3742299
@2781563
@1912644

Without a totem or an easy-mode shaman, these maps will be very very difficult.

I did all of those and only @3742299 came up as slightly hard to stableize, I could give you some screen shots too.

I only have slightly higher saves then an everyday shaman so I'd say I'm pretty basic

I'll go take same screen shots now

The everyday shaman has around 1k - 5k. To be honest the stat doesn't make much of a difference.

I can also get you some more tough examples, I just decided to pick a few off the first and second page.

pls feel free to get more, and I decided to exclude the last one cause my builds got really complicated there but here

http://i.imgur.com/PvfMykK.png

The idea in the map is you can use boxs and the fact that the grounds are L=10 to stableize any build really

http://i.imgur.com/f5ENBGW.png

You can place planks in between grounds and the build ends up Really stable

http://i.imgur.com/WCadLCN.png

You gotta admit that map was pretty easy :x
