I don't think HTML will get terribly far (unless heavily abusing HTML5/not caring about older browsers). There is still a bit to do, but the majority of that is tidying up the code, responsive CSS work, and most of it is coded with javascript and PHP anyway.

I think you missed the entire point of Moepl's project. What he mades doesn't use flash AT ALL (except as a fallback if you have a very very old browser like IE5). The website's content is the same as transformice.com/forum, the only major difference currently being the lack of a login/posting system.

The site does work on phones, even phones without flash.

HTML isn't exactly a hard syntax to learn, it's pretty much the same tags over and over doing different things, and paying attention to standards given by W3C makes things even easier now. But what makes a difference is can he do things with HTML5 or HTML4? Even if he can do both perfectly, I doubt it'd get far without use of some other form of library or code. And I don't think anyone can perfect it, anyway. If someone knows HTML fairly well, I'm sure they'll be knowledgeable enough not to even state that as a skill.

If you're currently in a board, you can click on the board at the left-hand side and it will take you back to the 'board index' (much like the current flash website).

Well looks fine now, but yesterday menu's and thread's columns were going wider/less wider decing how to fit the screen. Eventually they were stopping resizing but in a way too big size for that resolution. I got no idea how I could explain better.
