| Has anyone asked about the nerfs? (Aka reduction on shaman abilities we already have?) With all the cheers for the new Shaman Specializations, I can't help but wonder how we are going to get a blow to our current shaman abilities. We already have just about everything we need to complete a level. Cannons to break things and kill other shamans/mice, Boxes and Planks to build, Teleports to go through walls and such, Balloons to fly or lift things, Crayons to draw to anywhere, Anvils to add weight, Tramps to bounce high, Runes or Spirit to make a light pushing force, and a beachball for fun or bomb boosting. Now not every map we can freely use these things as being able to use all of them is overly powerful and not challenging to the shaman. We also have totems that insta-build many pieces at once. So how can we become greater without taking some kind of loss? Or is this costomization a trade off kind of thing? If it is, then balance will be a concern. This especially to Shaman vs Shaman fights. Unless those abilities are carefully adjusted, it could be mega unfair to others. That means specializations would need to not be overkill but more limited and only useful in what it does. I could see things like disabling cannons in exchange for a slightly faster cast time. Or making your conjured objects smaller in exchange for a bigger cast radius. (Think of the luls from a tiny cannonball bouncing off a mouse! xD) I see trade offs working. Things that make an already capable shaman more powerful, not so much... We also would have another issue. Current maps... The current maps would need to be adjusted for the specializations. It can't make shaman too easy. Being able to double cannon against the other shaman is just flat out unfair with nothing to counter it. Same with being able to super spirit or being able to teleport anywhere without any drawbacks. A bigger cannonball that is much slower and takes longer to cast may be balanced. Or a balloon that can lift more but you can't attach it to anything. Again trade offs can work so long as its not too powerful. There are other problems. As for the cosmetic aspect. I don't know if they are going to do it. Its kinda up in the air atm. But it feels like they are allowing for a mechanic change. I just hope its not a bad change. |

| No one's going to lose any saves, they meant that everyone's level would start at 0 and not some random number depending on their saves. My big expection would be something that replaces the hard-moder's totem. One of the things I want to see is a bungee rope. Kind of like the soulmate string but you're able to connect it to a ground in your spawning range and to your self so you can dangle from ledges and off things. I'm sure there can be a key bounded to it to snap it and maaaybe if there becomes to much tension it'll snap. Some other things I would like to see would be the ability on soul-mate maps to connect 2 mice that don't have a soul-mate together (Both have to be in spawning range). Just thought it would be useful Would also like to see no-collision for shaman on collision maps. That would really be helpful for shamaning them so people won't try and push you off the ledge. |
