I hate to say it, call me a kissass... Tigrounette has a lot more to focus on than removing skills for only a small series of rooms with a small playerbase (and before you cuss me out and say it's not small etc, compare it to the playerbase of other modules and general game play and get back with me). He can be doing so much more work rather than that. And as he stated, bots aren't official. The game is looking to move away from bots and eventually remove them. So why do all that work for something that's gonna go down at the end of it all? He could've put it nicer, but it's Tig. You should be happy he even spoke English to you.

Could do it for Lua as a whole, though. It would benefit a proper Lua version of fight as well as any other shaman-centric minigames. just my input: should consider the suggestion for Lua, and I think Cp should consider making the game in Lua as well. Perhaps you can't record stats in Lua very well at present, but he isn't anyway ~

If you guys want fight to really be stable, you should be petitioning for a lua api update which allows for us to record stats of players as fxie mentioned x) A few minigames like shaman and fight haven't been coded because they would only be half complete versions of the minigame (along with a few things lua coders still can't do for those minigames ;;).

Epicshawty a dit : Hi, that's me! I directly spoke to Sydoline multiple times about this but I wasn't able to get a commitment that the change would be reversed. Players continued to complain to me about it, so I decided to direct them to the contact form. Tigrounette a dit : I'm sorry, I thought that modbots were official - especially when they are used by mods and admins to compensate for the lack of tools you give the staff. Haruhitastic a dit : You are very uninformed. In the 7 days before skills were introduced, a total of 15k unique player accounts were in a fight in a fight room. If 15k players in a week is small, please show me a popular minigame. I'd love to see it. This is a minor change - remove skills from P32. I can't see it taking any more than 5 minutes to change. Should Tig spend 5 minutes making over 15k players happy? I don't know how anyone with half a brain can argue "no".

So, basically this wasn't done in LUA because it lacks some functionalities?
|          0        | ||
These are the same fight bots that have been running for ~18 months. Lua lacks the ability to permanently record stats and make them available on something like CFM, which is a massive component of fight.

Is it possible for a stat recording bot to run along side a lua version of fight? (excuse my nubbness)
|          0        | ||
It is, but that defeats the whole purpose of rewriting it in Lua. Please also note that it isn't possible to disable shaman skills in Lua, so doing a Lua rewrite would solve absolutely nothing.

Cptp a dit : For now. But as I told some LUA devs last week, it's something Tig has been working on in the past days. So this option will be added to the LUA API soon hopefuly.

Which option exactly? Recording + saving statistics or disabling shaman skills?
|          0        | ||
Lemodile a dit : The latter I'm sure. Saving stats is already possible after all, but there's just so little space it isn't thinkable to try.

Tigrounette a dit : I think Tigrounette is wrong, about not taking bot stuff into consideration. Sure, he is right at 1 point. Bots are user made, not official, he can freely say that it's not his problem. But is it so hard to help the makers, and the players? Someone above me, said that he has a lot to do as it is and that is not to hard to understand, but I think it would not take much time, to deactivate the skills, in some of the rooms. Cptp a dit : And as I did some research about Fight, In total there are 670k Individual accounts, that have entered that room and 93,911 individual accounts, that came to the Fight, and played atleast 20 round. Info It's pretty popular minigame in my opinion, and it's 1 of few, that truly allowes you to 'test' and 'improve' your skills as a shaman, where you have to; move quickly, shoot fast + accurently and plus to that avoid incoming attacks from your friend or foe. In this minigame, you can train a lot of skills, that you can't get in any other room in Transformice, and compare them against other players. Sydoline a dit : Making an option for Lua Api, does fix problems with Skills for other minigames, but this one still would have problems with space, as I've heard Api can't hold that many user records. As Cptp I believe asked and suggested (not for the first) It would be easyer to just remove the Skills from the fight rooms. Of course there is another way, but it is harder done; Finish the Lua Api update on the option to remove Skills, and give Cptp more space in Lua so that it would record userstats, and would function well. (And even if it was done, it would still have problems.) As I said above, I think Tigrounette Should take this bot stuff into consideration. This user-made minigame is popular among people, and I don't believe, that removing the Skill stats, in particular room, would take much time, and it would fix most of the problems that have accured, because of them. Me a dit :

Sydoline a dit : I sincerely hope it's to do with the skills AND stats/a database to save information in, it would be VERY greatly appreciated. Sonicherois a dit : It's not just Cptp, several old bot creators and most of the Lua Team have asked for a few small things that'd take a few minutes to do that would make an insanely big difference to minigames and open up hundreds of new possibilities, being requested over the past couple of years. Either way, the Module API is a big step up and it's not finished, hopefully with the Japan Expo and Fishing Event out of the way, some more work can be put into it to bring these much needed features that fight, and a slew of other minigames can use.

Shamousey a dit : In any way. I think they should atleast talk to us, why don't or won't do some small things. Tig said about the bots in this thread now, that's 1 of few I saw in public (I am not talking about behind the screens). They have ignored some suggestions that would have made more then half of the people in the whole transformice happyer, and made the game more enjoyablle. After all, players are 1 of the most important things in Transformice, are they not? In the past they were more interactive with the communities (Or at very least tried to be) but now, atleast in En, I rarelly see anything posted by them. Anyways, About the Module Api, as Shamousey said, hopefully they will work on that, and free them selfs from other work they have. I hope Fights problems would be fixed too, in one way, or another.

Given the two year gap between posts 35 and 36 it may be better to start a new thread if you wish to discuss the Fight minigame.
