Prior planning eliminates the need to hope, I'd hope this would have taught you a valuable lesson, but I know better.

last night my other favorite game was down to install new features and other updates. when i asked how long it would be down they responded fast and said 2 hours. in exactly 2 hours the game was back up and everything worked perfectly.

It really annoys me that people keep down talking the admins because of this update. I understand some wont be happy with the update, but all the admins have done ever since they made this update was think of us. Imagine if you came home from school one day to find that your parents redecorated your room. Even if you may not like it, they did it because they thought you would like it. Yes, it wont be perfect, and of course there will be bugs, but honestly- do you really think the admins are just going to blow it off and ignore all the bugs? They're working tirelessly to perfect this.
If you really think the bugs are that drastic, go wait a few days for them to be fixed. Maybe go to France, meet a handsome man and/or woman, get married..

Just get the old one back when the platform is not on...

This might come out of the blue, but you need to have an announcement on the login screen. (where you have the nicely drawn images). This way players that don't look at the forums, know what is going on aswell. I noticed a lot of under-informed people, asking what is going on and why they lost their tribe and cant whisper.

I'm not talking them down. I've been fine with it -- I haven't liked it and it'll take a ton of adjusting for me, but that's just because I've been on this site for a while and I'm used to this layout but now they're changing it. My parents have done that before. Nothing can be perfect.

Some people aren't going to just wait. Some people (including myself) are very impatient and have practically nothing else to do than play this.
(That last sentence you wrote was off-topic, but I'm taken and I don't think fourteen year olds can get married in real life.)

Plus, it's not that easy. They'd have to save a ton of codes for the site and every little code could lead to an error. It's not just going to be able to come back; it'd be practically impossible to update it back to the old one seeing as the update to the Platform took about a month and the admins probably don't want to put their hard work to nothing.

Just wanted to make note of something...

I have to assume the admins are smart enough to understand some very simple rules when making serious, possibly damaging, changes to your server environment: You always have a back-out and backup plan. That said, I am more than certain that the admins have a backed up copy of their entire system as it was prior to committing the new platform. It takes almost no time at all returning a server to what it was with a backup.

What Meli has said is that they do not want to go back to the old version because the buggy new platform would sit around and take even longer to debug since the bugs only appeared once the community was using the new version (which is not unheard of with a "bombs away!" approach to deploying a major change like this one).

In my opinion, this was a major mess up that could have been avoided with a larger testing group than just the handful of admins. Here's to hoping that what they have learned from this will be applied to future updates.

I have nothing more to say that you are right. The whole system has been at fault for a solid week now, and it's unacceptable. You have no idea how frustrated and sad I am right now.
We don't lie to you. We are really trying our best, but with such high numbers, everything that could go wrong just did. We've pulled a great amount of extra hours to try to get the Platform more stable, and everytime we think we're close, another huge intergalactic bug comes in our way. We thought about reverting, but it would only mean move the problem to later, because we can only provoke and fix those bugs in real-life conditions.

I sincerly apologize for the trouble it is causing. I hope the players who left will forgive us eventually and come back for the great Halloween event we've prepared (yes it's in the boxes already)

is it possible to get the old system to run concurrently with the new one?

this is terrible.
i know we need to be patient(i understand you all know that), but bugs are big things that can cause major of more things to the system.
