Old Transformice - New Transformice

I liked old survivor, and when there was no skills. Skills make the game too ez.

I personally prefered old Transformice over new, but it's not entirely because of the updates.. There were some ups and downs such as the server merge in my opinion. Sure I did meet new people in the process but I also feel like it really brought a lot more rude players together and it killed almost all the private rooms I played in for some reason as well as destroyed very tight-nit communities.

The next update I'd very much like to complain about is the Shaman skills. They were cool at first but they didn't really add anything to the game other then taking away a lot more creativity then it came with, making shaman's lazier an making cage maps/a lot of other maps lose their purpose entirely. Being the shaman was one of the funnest parts in the game in my opinion that forced you to think outside the box but now that just doesn't exsist anymore.

Most of all the game lost it's simplicity, what made it fun and addicting to play. Now n' days you have overly complicated XML edited mechanisms and overly laggy art maps, lots of random decorations that hide the cheese and hole as well as useless grounds that just add more weight on the scale. There's probably more that others can add to the scale but I'll leave it at that.

Some of the things I did like about the old Transformice was the introduction of Hardmode. It was a lot of fun messing with the totems and just failing and having a good laugh about it with other players as it added a new layer to the game without losing it's simple concept.

Moderators being able to play music and letting players request music. This was one of the most fun, and memorable moments to Transformice in my opinion. Just randomly having a moderator come into your room and then out of no where just hearing a song play (sometimes it being a song you like !) and everyone just dancing while having a good time.

Another fun but not so old thing was when Bouboum and Forteresse were introduced to Transformice (Bouboum now being an independant game). It was a lot of fun taking a break from Transformice to play something else and seeing all your friends in one room together. I really enjoyed playing both these games and still do.

Hat week. This was the most amazing, random event Transformice could have and everytime I saw the announcement about it, it just put a huge smile on my face. Looking forward to a hat each and everyday while it being a mystery on what could be added was a lot of fun.

A lot of the 2010-2011 events. Some of the best events in my opinion even though some of the newer ones are great too.

I'm sure there's a lot more that I'm missing, but I'll leave it at that. I'm kind of sad that Transformice won't ever really be the same as it was back in the day (No one likes change, let's be honest). Now in days I just feel like most of the stuff they're adding is pointless because they've ran out of ideas and the repeat in concepts of old events (Some are really nice, like the last Fishing event) but to have it again and again every year is a bit boring. Before anyone tells me to go to #retro, it's not the same and never will be the same because you can't get the same vibe anymore.

I'm glad that Transformice has grown as big as it has, and I hope it keeps growing however.

I don't care about either the old or new version. They both have some things that are better than the other, but nonetheless, it still has me playing.

I will be honest, im not a 2010 mouse, i was "born" at july, half way through 2011, so i did miss out tons of stuff.
But i did still felt the old transformice community.

I remembered when there were no one being rude at all, everyone was literally freinds and bonded. and i still remember those times when people ask how to get colored shaman patterns or totems, even i did.
I reember those "featured" maps that plays most of the time, but now they are gone, but it gives me a memorable feeling when i see those maps now.

I will be honest, yes i do miss the old times, But i would say i would not want it back.

I would really just want to talk about the comments that ask to get old transformice back:
We all remember the past because the happiness in those times. but now it seems its gone.
But if really we were to go back in the past, soon we would say "we want the future". Because we want something new... or something back. and if the cycle continues, is not bring us anywhere...

Back to the point, I do miss my old tribe mates and freinds like Gensisblade and Eveningx and alot more,
not to mention baffler room with the music playlist
and those times in old survivor, training up my skills.
and most importantly, my love for my tribe, the community and administers.

All those are almost completely lost now. my once jolly active tribe is now so inactive. baffler himself is also inactive. Survivor is now full of meepers, huggers and insults, and the community here is just now how it is, and already afew admins have left.

Everyone.. or Everything needs to move on, humans or games, they will grow. All we SHOULD look forward is the joy we have.

But anyways yea I miss the old tfm, when it was fun to troll, when the chat was filled with funny conversations, etc...
And for me, it was actually enjoyable back then. I just play now to pass the time o.o

2010 Transformice was the best. The events were fun...Everyone was nice...I loved it.

And now it's shit with horrible events, lots of lag and a community full of idiots.

I played this since 2010. In my opinion, the old Transformice was definitely better.

Those good old days when almost everyone had noob profiles, no statpadders exist, mods would type out funny chats using the [Moderation~] chat at times, things weren't so complicated and meeting many amazing people who are now inactive. It was a nice community overall. I have nothing against how Transformice is now but if there's one thing I dislike, it's the community now. It's sad to see how rude and selfish people have become. However, I can't deny that Transformice improved throughout these years tho, the graphics of maps/objects, levels and shaman skills.

I do wish I would've discovered transformice earlier but, I'm glad I discovered it when it was still young. The community is what I miss though...

Wow, seeing how much I've been through as TFM changed makes me just...wow. It's sometimes hard to believe I actually experienced all of these changes. I'm crying on the inside, reminiscing in old memories.

I've only joined in August of 2012, but since I had a friend who had been in the Transformice community since it began, I have some information on it.
I mostly miss the old layout and events of the old Transformice, though of course that's gone and we have to deal with it. I prefer the old Transformice, though both sides have good and bad factors. (I enjoy the fact that I can spawn while moving now, though. that's a good side to the new Transformice)
The thing I despise, though, is the community today, and how poorly the Cafe turned out. I thought it would be an interesting thing, like a mini, more open to everyone forum, though it turned into a terrible place where people can harass others and take lives away. Literal lives away.
I have a list of people who I can use as evidence for this, and honestly if the moderators can handle these people, the cafe will be much better and it will have a better reputation.
Overall, Old Transformice over the new Transformice, and the old community over the new community.

i dont like the backgrounds, i liked it when it was simple. the only things i like updated when i came back to tfm was the furs, perm ignore, item color customization, and shaman skills (except for the poitnless stuff. then theres wings and teleport which i found silly). \

i wish there was a choice to have backgrounds on the maps. theyre too much in the way/

I loved the old TFM.. The minigames, especially survivor as I used to play that 24/7. Though to be honest, I do love the new TFM also, I'm an artist and I love the backgrounds and the new ground colours and everything.
The style of play I think has gotten' better, but that's an opinion.
The events could be better, I feel like not much effort is put in to SOME of the events nowa' days, though I love them anyway so I guess I can't complain there. :P
