These ads will generate extra revenue for Atelier 801, this extra revenue can used to improve the game in many aspects including hiring new staff, introducing new updates, new anti-hacks and others things. In addition to this, the ads are short, available to be closed after only 5 seconds and appear almost rarely (every 18 hours). Furthermore, if you still can't stand the ads there are options available to easily opt out by either buying fraises or playing on the official standalone. I for one am happy with this Ads update.

Back in 2011 i use to click ads and wanted the staff to get money then they intoduced fraises so i realised all my clicking wasnt enough :/ Old times <3

I'm wondering if adblocker could block them. Well I think not, because these ads are integrated into the flash file of TFM. v_v

AdBlock (not AdBlock Plus) can block ads in flash games.

But why are you still using the browser version? The new ads will be a great new reason to use the standalone.

In my opinion, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I do feel like the ads will become a lot more intrusive, though, as the admins will find that everyone will switch to standalone or find some way of avoiding the ads. Hopefully they won't use something like Google's AdSense--there are some pretty vile ads on there. :/

There were ads before (in 2011? Maybe earlier?), too. I don't mind them as long as they don't interfere.
edit: (vvv) I hope so. I use standalone and don't play BB so I don't know (nor want to know) what sort of ads Atelier 801 is using.

I don't think they'll use Google AdSense since Google takes a certain percentage of what they make from ads and TFM would earn more revenue without AdSense.

Sorry the announcement wasn't very clear : the ad will show up right after you hit "Submit" when you enter your login info, will play for at least 5 seconds (you can skip it) and then you enter the game like usual and no other ad will disrupt your game.
Adblock works on this, so if you have Adblock it won't show up the ad and you will be able to play directly.
We're totally okay with this, as we are ok with people using rather the standalone to avoid ads, that's why we indicated it will be free of ads. We know ads are usually a bother, and we're doing all we can to limit it : 18 hours rule, guests/newbies, standalone etc.

Also, just to be precise, the ad network is indeed Google, but not the usual web Adsense everyone knows (but yes they take a share). It's the ad network used for Youtube.
