It would be rather queer if the "old ones" were automatic, but not this or future ones. Just pops out of thin air, whether you played those years or not.

I don't think the year someone joined is cause for them to be lauded with badges.

It's ment to be for the ones who have been playing since years ago too, not only the time when this suggestions gets implented (if).
