Sentinels have no in game power, so no; they weren't aware.

Conclusion: If you dislike the Cafe, then don't use it.
Though its implementation was completely unnecessary in my personal opinion, it convinced me that it's beneficial; it's an effortless method to directly interact with the community of Transformice.

Ever since moderation for the Cafe came along there's nothing inappropriate at all when I check the Cafe on both EN and E2. Perhaps there's some odd posts or threads, but nothing sexual or so shocking and inappropriate that everyone averts their eyes in disgust. I mean, right now the top three threads are people discussing coffee and tea, people's avatars and a clean game about posting the first thing that comes to your mind.

The Cafe is meant to be more relaxed compared to the forums, we aren't going to moderate spam threads or content lacking structure. That being said we will obviously take action against anyone posting porn or discussing inappropriate topics or breaking any other regular chat rule. If you report it to us we will take care of it when we can.

just because there isn't a report button on each thread doesn't mean you are unable to report.

now that I think of this there's a bunch of people who are 10 & under... I feel sorry for them.

It's simple, search for online mods and report a thread from the cafe which you find inappropriate/disturbing/gross/disgusting/immature.

Simples.

The question is what was the Cafe really meant for. I can see why some people are not happy with it but trust me, what you're complaining about is nothing compared to how things are in other communities (such as mine). They don't even get any moderation most of the time, and most of the time there's people talking about sex and porn.

I don't even bother to report them because it would be best if mods kept banning hackers instead of wasting their time with this almost-useless feature. And to be honest most mods are already short of time to moderate the game in my community, so... giving them more extra work with this cafe (and public chat rooms) isn't a very good idea imo... I don't normally criticize a new feature this much but the Cafe was a really bad idea imo, unless they could add a 'cafemod' team, that may be better for everyone.

Anyway I don't think this thread is helping. Just complaining without suggesting a solution doesn't help.

The he started copy/pasting line after line after for 10 minutes.
He just took that part of me asking him to stop.

You misunderstand me, I said that I personally haven't seen inappropriate content ever since Mods gained the ability to delete threads. Looking back at it now, I wasn't really clear with my wording.

To me this (And by this I mean myself not seeing inappropriate content when I've checked the Cafe so far) is testament that inappropriate things are being moderated. Sure, people are using it for the wrong reasons, but that's no different to the regular chat or the forums. It's unreasonable to expect that no one at all will ever misuse these chats but that's what moderation is here for.

I understand you're against some of the content of the Cafe, and that's fine, but please don't twist our words to portray that we don't care. The first thing I do when I log in is check both the EN and E2 Cafe's for anything that needs moderation. When the Cafe first came out a lot of the staff pushed for the Admins to allow us to moderate it since we know what kind of stuff can be posted there, and within two days the Admins thankfully allowed it. To say that we don't care couldn't be further from the truth.

I guess the cafe was made as a bridge for the players of a X community. It's easier to talk about different topics with different random mice in a forum like place rather than using the /chat. You can see the subjects' range easier as they are more in handy, one click away and little knowledge is needed on how to get to them. Also, after a few days the mess calmed down and there aren't really that bad subjects. I see it as a mini-forum.

I saw only once a thread sharing an inappropriate website which I think any person who spends a lot on the internet would know what it is because they came across someone randomly posting/saying something about it. The worst I can see are threads like "Who wants to do it with me", which are simply immature. People don't even answer in those with such a bad language or not even at all (the thread either gets answers like "me"/"your mom" or ignored), which is pretty amazing for the one of communities I spend my time in. I usually see normal discussions and 1 out of 20 are "free fraises" threads. People who swear are also found in normal rooms so that's something to be expected. The same with the ones who insult.

One good point about the cafe would be that people can gather information or ask questions faster. If they don't know where to ask, that is a pretty nice place. I personally enjoy answering their questions. Plus those who didn't ask that question, but had no idea about that fact can learn about it right there.

All in all, the number of sexual content is pretty small compared with the number of posts and threads so it's easy to ignore it. I also can say, as for me the same, that mods care about that place and answered me when it was something to report. As long as you behave you'll get a response. If one can't do it, be calm and contact someone else. Nobody's a superman.

That's how I see it, some parts might be subjective like what kind of threads I come across.

If you know the dark meaning of tentacles, then it is solely your business; this kind of words are meant for those who usually shouldn't know (not old/mature enough) their meaning :^)
