Yesterday, my friend and I were farming in vanilla. Than, he said that the maps are getting boring. I think it's true because when I joined in 2012 there were a lot of maps which aren't played anymore because they admins have stopped updating the rooms. I believe that they should do it because after a while the maps go mouldy like bread does. Thanks for reading.

P.S Mods don't lock this thread please!

Sentinel: I've merged your previous thread with this one. Two threads for the same topic are unnecessary.

Its to my other forum, read that first. But should admins update vanilla?

I mean should they change the vanilla maps?

This thread is talking about Vanilla rooms.
I'm voting yes because through 2013 i didn't get to see most all of the vanilla maps that was displayed in 2012.

I kinda of wish they would fix some of the old maps. I understand that they can't but part of me just wants to experience some of the older ones.

Cndalr a dit :
The current vanilla maps are okay, but indeed, playing the same maps over and over again gets boring.

I would support adding new vanilla maps (even though the essence of these would be lost, since vanilla maps are the very first ones in TFM), without having to delete some of current ones.

The essence of vanilla was lost years ago at this point, if I'm remembering correctly so far there have been two big updates that either altered the current maps, added new ones, or replaced maps entirely. So I don't see any reason not to try to improve the current vanilla rotation as they have already made multiple attempts to do so in the past.

The only change I'd want to vanilla maps are that the old ones that were replaced/removed are added in, as well as keeping the newer maps, I also believe it is fine if Tig adds some of his own new maps to the vanilla rotation.

Vanilla rooms are supposed to be "oldschool" and limited. That's how the game was played during the start, there were only the maps that Tig (I assume) had created, no other maps or rotations. Changing how vanilla works would be counter-intuitive. If you do that you might as well change the name to "chocolate" and remove vanilla from the game.

Okay but people go to my other thread

One thing I don't understand is why doesn't Tig just fix the broken maps? I mean he is hardly on so whats he doing? It should be that he is making more maps for us to play without shamans and more maps for shamans to get a lot of saves

Haruhitastic a dit :
The maps that were removed were because they were broken and Tig had no time/couldn't figure out how to fix them, Charbelsa.

Fantagetrans a dit :
vanilla create for noobs (beginers)
who start and have no idea what is this game

charbelsa a dit :
I know that vanilla rooms are supposed to be easy so new players can go there and learn how to play

...no.
Vanilla maps are the original maps of this game. Contrary to popular belief, the game did not start out with Map Editor. That wasn't added until quite some time after. That's why it's called vanilla and not beginner.

Oh? Wow, i know nothing about vanilla maps, I guess.
