I'd honestly be annoyed if people abuse this and make about over 10 announcements on the calendar a day and would spam the chat.

then why would you be in such a tribe? You're only in a tribe if you enjoy the people, events they do, the chat... If they would abuse it it would indeed be pretty annoying; I guess that depends on your leader (and others rangs allowed to modify it)
