Chapter Seven

It wasn't easy for Carp. It was never easy for Carp. Despite what others knew about the Stellae, Carp had never been the one for rumors and false information. They say that the Stellae were a group of neutrality, and that was true-- but the 'fact' that the Stellae were chosen by the Divine Shamans to make sure that the balance of power never got out of hand was pretty much entirely a lie. Though his kind personality would never allow himself to say it out loud, but he hated the fact that these rumours were made. While it gave him a sense of pride that children idolized and looked up at him, the fact that they only idolize himself was because of those false and creative information that others had made and scattered throughout the regions. He despised it.

Thus, Carp had separated himself away from the other Stellae and the villagers and travelers. There was something about the quiet that he found peaceful, and over time, he grew more and more attracted to it. The Stellae were strong. He knew they were strong enough to handle themselves were they to fight the Disciples. But they had come so far-- trained so hard to even get this level of mastery amongst their weapons, that by the time they found out about their prodigal mastery of their powers and weapons, they had already been considered as the 'Divine Apprentices' in all fifteen villages that were scattered about each region. The Stellae had simply met each other during the fighting tournament in Erel called the Proeliator (Warrior) Tournament. Each of them had battled and won against their enemies and had ended up having a three-way battle in the final rounds. In the end, no one won, and so the three of them were declared winners, the prize of fifteen thousand dollars divided evenly amongst the three of them.

Carp shook his head, throwing himself out of his thoughts. He would occasionally think of one thing, and jump to another topic-- it was what he would always do when he was alone. And it was safe to say that he'd been alone for ages.

"Hiya, Carp. What're ya' doin'?" Kiki jumped in front of Carp, blocking his view of the beautiful--natural scenery below him. Carp sighed, a tad irritated that his view of the land had been blocked.
"The usual, Kiki." He replied, motioning for her to move out of the way. "Thinking." Kiki did as she was told, moving aside with a slight pout after she heard his response. "What brings you two here?" He muttered, giving a quick glance at Schmerlock, who was leaning against his sword in the shade of a tree. Schmerlock saw his glance, and raised an eyebrow at him-, giving him the one-fingered salute in the process. Carp rolled his eyes exasperatedly.
"We," Kiki waved her hand back and forth towards Schmerlock and herself. "Have decided that we haven't had much time together lately, so we decided to do something fun! Just the three of us!" Carp's lips twitched upwards, betraying his opinions on the idea. Kiki grinned at him, eyes sparkling in a way that made Carp's lips curl up even more. Kiki ran towards Schmerlock, ignoring his vulgar words of protests, and dragged him over to where Carp sat.
I should enjoy the time I have left...right? It won't be long, after all.
An image of a brown haired mouse with an eye-patch appeared in his mind.
It won't be long until I join you, brother.
