A801 has picture sizes of 100 x 100 pixels, which are basically all less than 30kb. Pictures are resized to 100x100 by default if you submit anything greater or smaller.

Your real problem is with the size of the profile pictures on the a801 forum, not their memory size. You may want to consider cropping an important part of your picture or using a better resizer in order to achieve better quality and clarity in your pictures.

Shrinking or expansion in a801 pictures creates more distortion than changing the size yourself.

yeah uh
if you dont crop that picture, it WILL end up in low quality, due to how big it is.
your pfp is ideally supposed to fit the 100x100 and 30kb rule, which, of course, requires you to do some cropping if you wish for it to be in good quality.

e: oh whoopsies i didnt see the new page, i basically repeated what solfn said

im sorry but i don't support this, it's just that i don't see the purpose. it might be helpful for some people, but not in my opinion.
i use picmonkey to crop my profile pictures. they have a 100 x 100 "profile picture" option, when you click crop.
they're all always under 30 kb when i save them.

edit// image cropped with picmonkey, btw
for some reason i felt like re-doing your pfp for you. here it is. use it if you wish

Use full picture, then crop a 100x100 square.
Should come out very clean.
