You can't. Once its there, its there. However, if you have the tag #0000 then your username and tag won't pop up in the game. It will only pop-up if someone else has created an account with the same username as you. Like for example, Pig#0000, if someone creates an account with the "Pig" name, it would be something like, Pig#2837. If they are both in the same room, it would show their username AND their tag.

Not exactly, you have the #0000 tag because you're the original/first person with that username. If someone were to have your username, you would still have the #0000 tag, but the other person's tag would be different.

Anyways, I don't think I support this. It's honestly just a tag number, and it's not like you'll see it when you play the game or use the forums constantly. On the forums, it only pops up in friends lists, your profile, and PM's. Ingame, it only shows on your profile and in whispers (and in the chat if someone has the same username as you) if I remember right. There's not really a point in this even being a thing.

Well, some of the tags are hard to memorize, like #9487, or #1728 or #7816. But choosing your tag would not be worth it, because somebody else might have the tag. And I dunno what you mean by "Ugly tags."

They are the only ones that could choose their tag. Why would you think they would have tags like #0010 or #0001 otherwise?

They in fact can't.
They can't choose it, it's preset by the staff rank.

#0001 - Admins
#0010 - Mods
#0015 - Sentinels
#0020 - MapCrew
#0095 - Ex-staff

it's hard to remember some tags, simply, they would allow us to choose any tag but not those start with 0
and devs are not that careless, of course, they could prevent people having same usernames and same tags

in all seriousness if we pay for the name change, it should at least be worth to pick our own tag since 15usd or so is a notable amount of money to pay for it. if you dont care then they should just leave an option as leave it randomly generized.

at least in my instance my username got particularly ruined thanks to this, so i /support this as long as they give an option so that both sides dont groan about its uselessness to leave it up to RNG and please the other side who actually cares about this.
