Really? There were so many really good outfits that could have been chosen and instead we get literally the same thing for both winner AND runner up. I know that the FS has awful taste like 90% of the time but come on...

Sorry that you're disappointed with the winning outfits, but due to the limited items that the players were allowed to use for each year, a lot of the entries ended up being really similar to each other. We did not just pick our favorite and second favorite, we voted on all of the outfits and this is just how the results turned out. If you think that there is something we could improve upon, we appreciate any feedback or criticisms, but just insulting our tastes doesn't help us.

I never said I had a problem with the winning outfits? "the same thing for both winner AND runner up" <-- this is what I have a problem with.
2012, 2014, and 2016 had more than enough items for some variance so that excuse doesn't really fly with me in this particular instance.

Thank you to everyone who decided to submit an outfit for the contest as well as help vote on the outfits. Congratulations to all the winners and runner-ups, it was really hard to choose just two outfits for each year!

I hope that you will all be sending an application to join us in Fashion Squad over the next few weeks. I can't wait to meet our new members! *-*

Congratulations to the winners. Very good color matches. I see that all of them are pastel colors, withered-looking ones, nothing too bright. I'll remember that for future contests, if I want to win.

I think you can avoid this happening in the future, by brainstorming after you vote and if you have very similar results try to have another round of votes? Or just decide the winners in real-time in a discussion, instead of a secret vote. I don't know, I believe you can find many ways to avoid winners and runner-ups looking too similar.

The thing about the runner up and the winners being the same is that it wasn't intended; it was a vote, and a blind one for that matter. It wouldn't be very fair to the winners if the Fashion Squad went "oh, the results look kind of similar... let's just switch it". That is how voting works; whoever gets the most gets chosen. You can't alter the votes or have another vote because then it becomes bias. You are basically giving away their hard-earned spot to someone else just because they "look the same". Not to mention, as Lanadelrey already said, a lot of the outfits ended up looking the same as there were limited items to use. It's likely that the winners and the runner ups would look similar because its the same people voting for both; they wouldn't change their style or taste in between voting.
