| @2964944 is now P7. I made some aesthetic changes to make it look nicer, but gameplay is the same (for anyone who's played it before). Also, two new maps. One using an old concept that just surfaced into discussion in the form of a less interesting map (took the sync ground and made a better map out of it) and another spin-off of a different concept attaching builds to dynamic IM grounds. | Hoi! First of all, nice maps! I enjoyed most of them (except survivor and some bootcamps, ew), the hammer mechanism (@2515079) probably being my favourite *-* I guess @2966718 isn't a 2 plank map, but maybe 2 planks and a ball? Balls are pretty nice. I had to double-check the static cloud too, maybe you could replace the dynamic cloud with a background coloured rectangle instead? I love the concept (though it's not really new, but I don't think anybody found a way to really make it obvious and fun). @2980313 was just confusing as hell though, I had to replay a few times and I still don't think I understand. In the end I solved it by just shooting a rune to the IF (in hindsight a balloon would've been better), then just attaching the big dynamic ground to 0,0. Last but not least, I'm considering adding @2980302 to the shaman minigame, if you don't mind :] |

Tomciogol a dit : I actually used brand new technologies to make this map--it's easier than you think. If you're unaware of the new motor properties, here's some sample XML using a fast motor. Change Mv="4" to whatever speed you'd like and you'll have fast motors ^-^ a dit : Gogoninja a dit : I hope it's survivor/bootcamp (at least bootcamp) in general that you don't like ;; Also I'm surprised anyone actually likes that map without just saying it to be nice ^-^ Most people hate it because saves/stats etc., but I guess that doesn't apply at all to room shaman regulars. a dit : A plain rectangle ground is pretty much the approach a recent map going into P4 discussion took. Personally, I hate that approach. I used a cloud mostly so that users could see their spawn radius (no spawn radius was a huge pain in that other map as well as making playing feel strange). I thought that a cloud would 1. eliminate the invisible spawn radius and 2. tell you there's an actual IM ground there (unlike the blended color ground in the discussed map). This approach is really the only one I can imagine ever working for me. I don't know a way to make it more obvious than a C anchor you can step on, though. Also I'm aware you can shortcut the map with a ball and I find it good that you can :3 Balls are something underused by most shamans and this is made to be a general shaman map (not particularly for you room shaman pros). The map itself is, admittedly, rushed however. I just wanted to make a better version of the concept since it's being looked at by map crew now. a dit : I'm sure it'd be less confusing with players ^^' The ground is actually sync collision, so the shaman can't pass it but mice can. The idea is to spam boxes or junk (or if you're a good shaman do something interesting) to build a stepway to the switch for mice to press. a dit : Sure ^^ Speaking of room shaman, Impure thought this would be an interesting addition to it (though personally I don't see this concept being liked by room shaman regulars at all, but might as well mention here since I was going to post it in this thread eventually anyway): ![]() Basically a soulmate shaman map. Got the idea from this map: @1448991, where it's incidentally the easiest build by far. You're right that most regs would call a soulmate map horrible etc, but I think it looks pretty interesting, we need more new stuff like this! *-* |

a dit : hammer mechanism This isn't the exact mechanism and would require much tweaking to retain consistency. Only sharing so that you might possibly learn from it, though it is a very primitive mechanism. I don't expect copies to spawn from this sample XML. |
