I’d like to have some help in doing canine hind and forepaws
I look at reference images, but it all still comes out so off and weird, so I thought I would ask for tips here
The right is forepaws (Ignore any hinds there) and left is hind paws and legs
Also, ignore any leg size. It’s probably off by too short or long in some sketches, but Im mainly worried about how it all looks and the size wont matter to me in these sloppy sketches (In an actual drawing I would try to make it more accurate?) unless length is important too on how the anatomy would work and whatnot

Im mainly having problems with the paws, the joint where it turns over to the leg. It sometimes looks like I drew the paw too long or too short and then it all looks weird. Im not sure how to explain, but it really shows in the sketches tbh. Hopefully I just get some help overall

I completely with Shastabby and looking up more pictures of canines, but your joint placement is really an issue. I suggest mapping out joints over pictures of canine legs and then looking at yours. For example, your standing hind legs bend far too close towards the top.

If you do this for the poses, you'll find the differences and learn to know where and how legs are formed.

You really should look at pictures of canine legs/paws if you would like to improve. Hind legs look much different than what you drew here, as do front legs.

When a dog sits or lies down, its legs still have the same bones and should be properly bent instead of the anatomy just disappearing.

Your paws can be improved on by studying picture references as well.

I would also suggest looking up close at canine legs and paws in real life at any opportunity you get. Looking at the skeletal structures of different breeds helps as well.

I do look at reference images, that’s why I thought I was having some trouble with the paws. But I never thought of looking at closeups im an idiot, so I’ll try to do that more often than not
But is there somehow a trick[?] to make it so that the paws dont look so odd? I try but it always comes out how it appears in the sketch^ or too skinny and weird

Try Conwolf's suggestion for the paws, but instead of mapping out joints you could map out the shapes that make up the paws. Kind of like whenever you see sketches that use circles as a base, try and find where those circles and ellipses would be in a paw by drawing over a photo. After doing a few angles, try creating one from scratch. I've done this myself for various body parts and it has helped a ton!

Can anyone critique this unfinished dragon sketch?
I also need help making the other wing. I cant get it right and it always looks weird, so if someone could give me some tips I’d be very grateful
I’m drawing my newest OC, which I bought from Shardpixel

http://i.imgur.com/L4MrnGi.png

Ignore the fact that it is missing spikes and horns, those will be added when I add the permanent lineart

E//Wings are intentionally large btw, just putting that out

E2// I got someone to help me with the wings, but someone else can still critique body anatomy >w< c:

sorry, i won't critique the anatomy at all, only the shadows. (im really bad at giving anatomy tips on anything that isn't realistic ;v;)

http://i.imgur.com/2q38MPT.png

i got a bit carried away while doing this, if you didn't already notice :D
first, i had a bit trouble seeing where exactly is the light source, so i hope i didn't change it too much.
you should be a little bit more confident with your shadows and lights. you probably weren't concentrading much on them, so your lines were good, but your shadows look like you did them very quickly. a lot of people seem to do these very blurry shadows with a very dim light source, which makes the character look flat. so don't be afraid to use more shadows and lights and make them more detailed. you'll improve much faster, and your drawings will look more realistic c:

+ i had to make the picture more dark so you would see the lights better. i hope the critique helped, even though the light source is a lot more intensive in my picture, and i had to change a couple things :D
sorry for my bad english?
