As you see from the XML above, the P tag must be like this: <P D="img,x,y;img,x,y;img,x,y" />

The map you're talking about is probably this one. It looks like the cheese is moving but it actually isn't, because the moving thing is a drawing of the cheese. It is connected to a ground in a hidden mechanism, that's how it moves in that direction.

You can turn grounds into other objects like the cheese by using Color Joint object generator, then make a mechanism and move your cheese.

is there a way to make a map long like defilante in viprin's? i tried loading the xml for defilante maps in viprin's but it looks like there's more to it. i've seen maps that appear longer than 1600 with art from viprin's on it. any ideas?

Pardon me, but may I ask how can you make the inner part of a circle unable to collide with mice?
e.g. Creating two circles, a larger one and a smaller one. Both on the same axes. How would you maketh the smaller circle unable to collide with mice?

Make a ground and copy-paste the XML somewhere. You'll see a T value (like T="1"), change the value with 15 which is the cobweb grounds' T value.

Copy maps are simply removed from the rotation, but if it’s been discovered that you are stealing XMLs or trying to pass off the work of others as your own you run the risk of having all of your maps deleted and being put on the Map Crew’s “blacklist”, meaning all of your maps will be deleted and your future (original) maps will not be considered for perm status.

taking this into account, my understanding is
- getting XMLs of others' maps and submitting them in any form: illegal (I can be punished).
- submitting copy maps and saying they are made originally by myself: illegal

- getting others' XML itself is legal, i think, just because we can
- copying others' maps by sight is legal
- submitting copy maps as P0 : just removed when found. legal (no punishment)
- submitting copy maps in the official perming submissions threads : just ignored but legal
- submitting copy maps in the minigame map submissions threads : depend on the minigames. legal

- in the rules above, the perm code of the original maps does not matter. (for example, P0 maps copied from others' P22(tribehouse) maps are removed as well as P0 maps copied from others' P4 maps)

Then, questions.
- is my understanding correct?
- How do you distinguish look-based copy and XML-based copy?
- Why isn't it allowed to copy others' tribehouse maps and submit them as P0 or other official perming? although it's not illegal, those maps are removed or ignored. in my opinion, a map being P22 means it's supposed that the author does not mind someone else copying it.
- is there a more detailed list of the guidelines on maps?

See now this is the kind of confusion you all get when you allow players to copy maps with illegal lua codes just because you could get some nice troll maps.

You have one of your official sources saying copying maps is bad, but now you also have other official sources saying you aren't going to give out any punishments. I reported this problem so many times and you all ignored it, encouraging copy maps isn't going to help the map community it's only going to produce at best, unoriginal maps.

You should all take my advice and stear clear away from copying maps, there's a reason why it used to be completely illegal in the game, before this if it was even a tribe house someone did something about the copy map, simply because of the reason that it meant that player had the abilities to copy maps when they shouldn't have that ablity (i.e. a Mapcrew Member would have the ability but a normal player wouldn't)

If you move the circle grounds you can see how it's done, both circle grounds have no collission with mice, but because there are other grounds behind it's possible to walk in the inner circle.

Kind of, yes. Every map is dealt with on a case-by-case basis, because as you've pointed out, there's a lot of factors to take into consideration. One of the main points is just to not try to claim another player's map as your own at all - the reason P22 is usually acceptable is because it doesn't show up in rooms with your name and no other explanation. There are a lot of other situations to be covered throughout the community, like claiming a P22 map as your own on the forums, or submissions to modules, etc. that we would also need to deal with as a case of its own.

Just because a map is P22 doesn't mean it's acceptable to be copied - lots of people export maps as P22 for a variety of reasons, or we change them to P22 for one reason or another. For example, bootcamp maps aren't acceptable to be exported as P0 because they don't fit in normal rotation, so they're always meant to be exported as tribehouses.

If the map creator genuinely doesn't mind it being copied, then that's a rare scenario but something we can work around if the creator contacts us.

We have an internal set of guidelines we use for dealing with copy maps, but there's nothing like that public other than what's said in the submission threads.
