| They mute and ban for the n word, as they should do, because it's offensive and upsetting to people. However, it's not upsetting to everyone, just like the word "rape". So, what should they do? Allow people to say both freely, or ban both? They shouldn't allow one and not the other. |

Spinnando a dit : I personally feel that the 'n word' shouldn't be filtered. No one uses the filter for one. Plus I have the same standing with the 'n word' as I do the word "rape". Neither should be taken to heart, especially over the internet. |

| Hi guys, I think this would be a more appropriate place to talk about bad words and the filter: Topic-162091 (And yes, I have heard from plenty of people who use the filter.) |

| I hate having all these younger kids here, they think they are smart and try to act "hard"... I think there should be a system that stops them from joining, the ones who already have accs should be banned until they turn 13 |

| It doesn't matter how old you are but you should be over 8 1/2 and younger than 16. |

| At the rate you guys are going no one of any age should be able to play Transformice and the ones that are able to should have to go through a super long account process that's reviewed by the current staff to make sure that only "mature" people get in when they can cause just as much problems. There's no way you can battle this without getting rid of the community all together with the solution of making certain people only able to register. |

Pinpenski a dit : Staff have to be 18+ so that's not going to happen. |

| Many people on this are above 13 and i see alot of kids under getting abused many times. I think because the kids are lying about there age, they have bad grammar, so the get bullied on this |

| For one thing I do agree that some kids are rude and have poor grammar. It doesn't mean at all that we should kick them out though. Face the facts people, there's even adults that can be rude at times. So just because we're kids that act rude every now and then means we should be kicked out of the game? And if you're gonna kick every single player under 13 out would you finally be happy? Look, I speak for the ones who lost their voice. Hmm.. oh where did these little kids learn to act "tough" and swear so much? Hmm.. oh look! I see some older folks swearing too. Oh hmm.. wonder how they *cough cough* got the idea. Ey go ahead these are just my opinions. Also I'm not blaming every single adult here/+13 but it's just a few people who I'm talking about |

Pinpenski a dit : Excuse you? In this thread I see multiple users who are over the age of sixteen, myself included. I don't see why you can't be over sixteen to play. That's ridiculous. Bengalstar a dit : If their parents raised them properly then they would know it's not right to mimic that behaviour. Don't give the blame to other people when it has to do with how they are raised. |

| Children under the age of 13 getting on the Internet has been an ongoing issue for as long as the Internet has been readily and publicly available, really. I remember when I was eight years old and sneaking on the Internet back in 2000; by 2003 I had established myself in GameFAQs despite a) they _clearly_ had a rule requiring people to be over the age of 13 and b) being under the age of 13. I like to think of myself as someone that is very smart and relatively wise but even then, holy shit was I one immature kid. Because I was a kid. Kids are dumb. Let's face it. (Not to say that adults are any smarter...) But, real talk, there's no point in complaining about all these spoiled children that set bad examples for everyone else; because, assuming that we are truly as mature as we perceive ourselves to be, we're already setting counter examples on what's actually socially acceptable. Almost every day I play Transformice, there's at least one time I have to mention to the entire room, hey, guys, you can just /ignore, y'know, instead of getting your jimmies rustled, and usually at least one or two mice listen, and that's just an action that, in terms of the Internet, is generally almost always the best solution for dealing with strangers. We can also only take so much responsibility of it, too, since it's entirely on the mouse in question to choose what they find socially acceptable. Hell, just a few nights ago I was talking about some of my new sexual toys to my friends in a public room, but I really doubt that anyone will get far thinking that it's okay to actually do that (just look at me! I'm a terrible person.) |
