Also, why not remove the dumb "deleted/moderated" thing completely? We don't need to see them, it was fine before when the posts were removed completely from our point of view.

Talked to Sydo about it and she told me Nara, the admin who handles the forums I believe, thinks it's important for people to know that a post has been deleted and the reason why. He thinks it'll help them to know what is allowed and what is not.

Also there were threads that had pages devoid of posts due to the excessive amount of deletions that went on. Nara is only helping out on small additions to the forum, coding a way for those pages to seem like they weren't actually empty is something he can't possibly do.

I thought warns served that purpose though? Double posts look so bad that you might as well leave the original message in the second post, and honestly, I doubt most people bother looking back on many of their old posts. I know I don't, and people may miss the fact that their post was deleted, just as some people on other forums miss warnings aimed at them when mods post the warnings in threads.

We did suggest for users to see their own deleted posts, but it wouldn't solve the problem of those empty pages. We might just have to stick with this until an HTML version of the forums come along.

But just talking about increasing the time...would there be anything fundementally wrong with increasing the time to 5 minutes? 60 minutes? A day? Obviously a day seems a bit out landish, but can you give me a reason why it shouldn't be limited one post a day other than the fact that it slows chat?

If anything, what we need on this forum is a 2-3 topic creations limit a day...

Silly reason is silly. It helps prevent spam posts and also helps Sents keep up with Post traffic (I've had the unfortunate experience working in that area).

We've been working on the forum translations behind the scenes, so I'll take a look at the list we have so far and make any necessary changes and let the admins know there's been a mix up for report.

Wouldn`t it be more suitable if only the user who got his post deleted was able to see it?

Do you by any chance know if Nara is willing to switch the forums software? There's a bunch of well tested and feature-rich engines. This way he won't have to reinvent the wheel.

It's pants when you have to scroll *pages* of deleted posts, isn't it? Wouldn't it be better to send a notification message to the author of a deleted post?
