^ Johnny bravo-type cartoon, then ?

Yes, though he's not the only example you'll find in animation media, you'll find the stereotype in everything.
The huge inverted triangle represents strength; small legs are a cartoonist's way to exaggerate that triangle, but the small legs aren't generally needed.

More Varied Examples

(Ok, more of a square around the middle but no one said the waist always has to be skinny-- the square is a common shape just like the triangles, but i cant go over all of them.)

(mmm yes, the epitome)

It's not something done to make you notice it, it's more a subconscious representation of what the character is and their role in the narrative; Bravo is kind of a bad example because his physical qualities are over exaggerated for the purpose of irony and to show just how empty his life and intellectual qualities actually are, but it can be more subtle, it's just a bad place to take reference from because you'll learn the stereotype is to induce ridicule when it's absolutely not. I'm still building knowledge of these things, i'm vaguely aware of squares and circles and such being used to make characters but I wouldn't be able to say much about it.

BUT AGAIN! I wouldn't jump into this shapes stuff till you've mastered normal human anatomy and proportion. There's very many degrees of realism to cartoon and you'll only harm yourself by tackling cartoons first (Like I did) instead of working from the fundamentals to the ... fun. At least now I hope you'll be able to see the shapes that make up the characters you play and see so that when you get to that level where you want to make characters who physically represent their personalities, you'll have a huge mental library to pull from.

i literally made this in ms paint so it looks like shit

start off by not using the circle tool

R U kidding? Imagine the disaster this could be without the circle tool.
Jokes aside, I like how this artist managed to use a tool which most people shy away from or are too scared to incorporate into their art work-- the eraser. The option to make a line cross another line, preserve it's motion and weight under the alternative object, and then erase the part of the line you wouldn't necessarily see. It's tactical, this man or women is a genius. If they continue using the tools at their disposal, and I wouldn't be surprised if they bypassed even myself in the future.

Also that's a style for a Brazilian web comic.

wow i was off this thread for a week and all this happened because of my shitty ms paint drawing
wow

Lol I wasn't giving a serious critique, I was just using you to slag off the pretensious, unmodivated, unlearning attitudes of the art community as a whole by suggesting you're better than them for using a circle tool (Which according to purists you must never touch.). Every reply I made afterwards was my being facisious.

Cloudo you've run out of critique tokens from me so I'm going to pass on you from now on, you can just reread all the critiques I've already given you and they'd still be applicable.

*gentel smile* honeydew, to study human anatomy you have to at least... look... at what a human being is. I understand maybe you won't get it perfect the first time, but its obvious you drew what you thought a human looked like without any references or breakdowns or guidance at all. Why are its arms twice as long as its entire body, why are there no joints on its legs, why does it have no feet? You haven't looked at a proportion guide or a face guide or absolutely anything. Don't you dare tell papa A0xis that you're studying anatomy by doing nothing but drawing misconceptions and bad memories. I want you to hop over to google and start doing some real research and homework.

The snout is way too far into the mouses head. Real mice have a very small snout which curve at the bottom of the nose down into their throat. If anything, you've made the snout belong to a dog, and the rest of the body belong to a mouse - a pretty common mistake in this community.
The only way that snout would work is if the mouse is facing forwards.

The ear farthest away curves in too quickly to the mouses head, which is not symmetrical to the ear closest. You would either have to change the closest ear to curve in quicker, or change the farthest ear to be more round (I would go for the latter, since it's an easy mistake to fix).

The leg closest is too small. At this perspective, that leg should be longer than the one in the background. Given the way it's drawn, there is no motion to indicate that the leg closest is moving, hence why it looks very out of place.
Remember that the closer something is, the bigger it will be.

Thank you!! I fixed some things to it but I don't think the legs still look quite right yet :/ also do you think the bow on the head looks correct? I was trying to make it go backwards like it was being pushed since she's swimming forwards. Also I couldn't find any references for the bow so I kind of winged it. I couldn't find any references because I had no idea what to search up, everything I searched gave me wrong images.

The anthro drawing: the arm closest is too thin, and should have some sort of fat in there, instead of just bone and muscle. Looks very disproportionate to the legs. The leg furthest away looks bigger than the leg closest, so a leg fix on either would look better.

The weird strand of hair on the tail isn't really a thing that happens with cats. It looks wrong and out of place. Even so, it wouldn't be able to stand upright like that on its own, as it owns virtually no base.

Other than that, everything else seems fine.

The head seems a little big for the body, unless you were going for a chibi style?
The neck is also too long. Mice heads go into the body quite quickly, and the neck would only show if a mouse is stretching far!

You need to practice drawing from life on more simple geometries before you tackle a face or hand.

Did a new OC (off topic again)
Please don't point out the face/eyebrows, I know that I need to improve on that.
Just the rest please (head/body/shading/clothes whatsoever)
