Just to say, i was 11 when I joined and I was pretty mature for my age so no one really cared.

I guess really it just depends how the kid's maturity is, as in if he/she is capable of acting mature or not. But if all they do is complain that everyones a noob I see no reason why they should stay on this game.

The only times I wasn't mature is when i was raging at bootcamps and when I die as sham back then.

As for underage people - you can't change it. Nobody reads TOS (kids don't care, parents don't care, nobody in fact cares). And with this game being free and it's graphical style (and options to customize mouse) with low-spec computer requirements (though devs could fix standalone by using some garbage collect code, goes up to 1gb and more if played for more than 2 hours), it will attract a lots of underage players. That forums are a terrible place - it won't change until either community in general will become far more mature (average age being 18 or more, i'm 23 btw), forums won't change. One option would be far more moderators, who delete threads instead of locking them and start deleting far more stuff (like this thread for example), then it might be better place.

And it's whole gaming industry. I've played modern warfare (haven't touched any modern shooters since then) and it's basically grade/middle school playground. Shops sell them these games, parents buy them these games. Nobody cares about EULA, TOS or ratings on boxes like T, M, I even saw some parents buy their kids (again, around grade-middle schoolers) S rated games. Parents don't care what their kids do with computers and, of course, if parents would see their kids playing that bought S rated game, they'd take it and blame somebody. But transformice - "oh, look, what cute images, it's safe" without understanding, that it's online game with people like me who can joke about rape, murder or child abduction, possibly damaging a couple of grade schoolers mentally and complicating their healthy growth, adding to terrible communities online.

In all honesty,I don't give a fuck.

Smart people keep quiet while other run their mouth; it's not my problem.It's not our problem either that these children act immature,it's their problem.

I think they should leave for a long hiatus and come back when they have turned somewhat mature.

It's not always easy for people to ignore the awful memories that come to mind when these "jokes" are made. It's in poor taste, and it's completely unnecessary to make such jokes publicly. Go ahead and make as many jokes as you want in private, or over whisper, the people effected by the jokes aren't going to see them there, so no harm will be done.

I totally understand what you're saying here. Some "taking the piss jokes" are funny, and it's nice to see humour like that every so often. But quite honestly I just thought making this thread would have the admins see how YES, sometimes the jokes aren't funny and they can't be ignored. I don't think people have to make rape jokes constantly in public rooms, do you? Jokes about anything in that area. Honestly we'll see it differently because the words effect us differently. As Laura (spinnando) said, awful memories can come to mind.

2) To mute or ban people for bad jokes is absurd.
3) Jokes can be ignored. I explained this on page 24 with my story. I don't get offended when people make 'yo mama' jokes. Because they're jokes and nothing more. It's my choice to laugh or not.

You know I really had a problem trying to explan this to some other mice about How it CAN be funny. Yet they call me an idiot. :I This quote I agree with this so hard it is not even funny how much I agree!

Also with the whole Under-age thing, ...this is just some mouse game. If ya don't want to hear from them you can block them. This whole thing is never going to leave. Beside this shouldn't even matters.

Anywhere in a 13+ site there will always be an underaged player.
You can't blame us (I'm 11) for swearing, talking about innapropriate stuff, etc. Most of the youngest members of the transformice community think that talking like that is cool. So when they play in public rooms there is at least one person who swears, and it sort of grows on them. I see a lot of players EVEN younger than me swear and act... well, like hypocrites.

BUT it doesn't mean all underaged players are like that. Sure, they learn a couple or two in transformice, but they have the choice what will happen to them when they get older.

There is a lot of people out there doing bad examples ANYWHERE in the internet. We "kids" look up to them and think that's a good thing. WELL IT'S NOT.

If they are constantly joking about rape and other dark stuff, it's not really jokes anymore. It falls more under the category of "serious discussion while trying to make it sound like jokes". At that point moderator (or whatever maintains order in this game) should come to room and relieve these people from this game for some time. I can't really understand how people could continue dark humor for more than a couple of minutes and have serious discussions daily (though in vanilla I haven't seen dark humor evolve into discussions)

Momma jokes, president jokes, country jokes, food jokes, chicken jokes, proffesion jokes, anime jokes, manga jokes, transformice jokes, drawing jokes, dying jokes, rising jokes, killing jokes, racist jokes.

I can go on forever.

But really, they are just jokes. But if a 7 year old reads about it and takes it seriously... an evil discussion arises.

I see this too often. Transformice is not a 'mouse game'. It's a platform racing game that uses the mouse as a character. They added cheese collection and item buying to show progression and achievement in the game.
