Oh perhaps that's so, not the days you've registered, rather the amount of 24 hours fit in to your game play time.

The time displays the cumulative playing time which I described at the bottom of this post:

Epifistu a dit :

How the sync works:

Game objects such as shaman items should be on the same spot on the screen for every player. This is necessary to enable the same gameplay experience for everybody. Therefore one player is chosen (people usually call this player the sync) to keep track of all objects' positions & velocities throughout the current round. This means that this player's game recognizes players interacting with those objects (for example pushing a box around). All objects' positions & velocities are sent every 500ms from this player to all other players in the room. For this player all objects move smoothly around, without lagging. For all other players the objects "jump" into their new position & velocities once they received the updated information from the sync.

Why the sync is needed:

Players have lag (depending on their ping). If the game would not synchronize the objects every 500ms among all players, the objects would be at different positions for each player, resulting in a different gameplay experience for everybody. For example player A would see a box close to a high ledge so they can jump from the box to the ledge, but for player B the box is still far away from the ledge so they cannot jump there. This would be unfair and chaotic. The sync is taking care that the box is at the same position for everybody. Since the objects are updated only every 500ms and the sync player might have a bad internet connection the objects can still lag, there is no way to solve this problem.

How the sync is chosen:

Longest cumulative connection time
is not the connection time of your current session. It is also not the time since you made your account. It is the time that your profile has been connected to the server in total. Imagine you have a stopwatch that you start when you first log in to the game. If you log out you pause the stopwatch. When you log in again, you start the stopwatch and it keeps going from the time when you logged out. This time is the cumulative connection time. (It's comparable to the steam function which tells you how long you played a certain game.)
The flowchart says blue shaman because of the possibility of double shaman maps.

Tibal a dit :
Do you find it a coincidence that players whom work together to try and maintain the chaos that is Transformice tend to gravitate towards one another and want to hang out in the same tribe? More often than not, staff members join KwL -after- they have already been staff (case in point: me).

Haruhitastic a dit :
Not to mention that considering tribes like KWL, Crossing Borders and even to a degree The Furry Revolution have a larger population of adult players when compared to others; of course a great handful of staff will come from those tribes.

I also want to add to this that tribes like the ones mentioned have been around for a long, long time.
Players there have been around and know the game pretty well. And, from being in these old tribes (that have tons of mods, ex-mods, sents, and sometimes even admins in them) gives better examples of how to be when you apply and get trained to be a moderator because they've played for years alongside these people.

[/quote]

Ok, but then when someone who knows the ropes of tfm and has been here probably longer than some mods can't get into one of these tribes to actually try and work their way up. This means we are just S.O.L. better luck next time?

Basically what I'm saying is that I have applied to TFR (Kittens is never recruiting unless you are best friends with everyone there) a couple times. Both times I was denied because they didn't want new recruits, yet was recruiting. Makes sense? Not really.

No?
It doesn't mean that at all and I fail to see how you get that idea.

Nobody said "OH, IF YOU'RE NOT IN KWL OR CB YOU CAN'T BECOME A MOD/SENT/ETC?" It's just if you are in those tribes, you may have a heightened chance.
But then you have users such as Celeius or Secretive who aren't in those tribes (or joined those tribes after their hiring), who were hired because they had good apps and showed they were knowledgeable and mature.
Behaviour on the forum and in game also helps too, since mods can see your behaviour in various circumstances that way.

Ok, this is not a behavior, more of a concern. You'd rather me say my concerns, correct?

What.
I don't even get what you're saying with that? I'm saying your behaviour in game and on the forum improves your chances to be chosen for mod.

Based on this I would say that shop cheese should still count:

Haruhitastic a dit :
stuff

Adding to that it's obvious that things like that will happen.
There are tribes that simply attract more experienced and old (+18) players.
The tribe I'm in (A Beautiful Mess) It's the only one that has +18 Italian players* in all game. It's obvious that if the italian staff will be chosen will be most likely from our tribe, This will not make our tribe a "Staff tribe" but for sure it's more likely to have staff in there just for a demographic factor. Same happens in a lot of other servers. It's obvious that stuff like this happen.
And it's also obvious that the staff won't let anyone "random" come into their tribes because they will be talking about "secret stuff" that iis not intended to be known to the vast majority of players.

*Italian players that play actively in the italian server, there are other It guys that are never to be seen there)

I guess with that being said, why don't they get to know the players that want to join their tribes? Not everyone who plays on the internet is a troll. Some of us are actually down-to-earth good people and would never leak out something that is "secret" or can't be exposed to the public.
