You don't WANT to be able to tell the mice apart, because it blocks your view on the map. And just because you wouldn't use it doesn't mean it's not helpful. It was even mentioned that you could leave your friends' titles/usernames on, imo that's all you need to know in a crowd of mice ; who/where your friends and yourself are, if you even want to know.

And this doesn't make that much sense to me x: Pretty sure there would be others noticing it and mention it in chat/report the person already. And if they're votebanning the mouse then you'd see it as well (/ban username).

well as the OP says you can see could be able to see your friends' user and title. There for, you would/could be able to tell if it's a hacker just like it is right now.

Well I think usernames and titles take a lot of space and it distracts you a lot. In my opinion, all I need to see is who are my friends

names disabled will be troublesome for hackers or people you suddenly need to identify, and titles disabled is in the game. chatboxes should be be able to be disabled more than the actual names. much more disruptive

Turning off players usernames doesn't seem that useful. If you don't like how many rats there are at once, unless you're trying to get saves, then go into small rooms.
