To be honest, I don't think it's about trying to tell the difference xD It's just a nice touch for the game to be able to add names. ^^ This whole tfm experience is about fun after all.

And as I said earlier: "I have done this with all my outfits in Gimp" - I do enjoy being all OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) with my entire shop, and having names for each outfit happens to be one of the details.

As a few other people said, it seems unnecessary and you can visually differentiate between the outfits.
