Yes, it's an English name, Katakana is forien names, that's how we would say it. I don't know where to get a dogs real Japanese name, feel free to link me to something that could show me one. I'm sure Maddy would transfer into something else like how my name in Japanese class was "Kurisu" but the real Japanese name would be much differant. (My teacher told me what my REAL Japanese name would probally be, but I forgot it :x it was long is all I can remember)

I know it's also my grandma's dogs name so it means I get a cute dog kisses hello every time I go to my grandma's house <3

But it's pronouced Koko for my dog js, not coocoo like in french

Just because you're getting the japanese way to spell your dogs' english/whatever names doesn't make them actual japanese names.

Like, Kurisu isn't a japanese name. It's just the romaji of the katakana needed to spell the american name, Chris.
