That's what the language filter is for. If there is something offensive that gets past the language filter, that's what reporting/vote banning is for. You don't just close the chat and ignore it completely. You either step up for the other mice and report it otherwise nothing will be done.

Other than that, you can open up another channel and just look at that. Then, you can possibly have an empty chat or a group chat with only the people you want to talk to. If you turn the chat off, the previous messages will not be logged. If you decide to turn the chat back on, then you will be able to see a lot of very recent messages and you will be able to catch up with the current topic.

Also, what if someone, e.g. the shaman, is trying to tell you something and you can't see it? It will seem that you are ignoring them and it's rude. You'd think that the chat bubble thing on screen would compensate, but turning off the chat would also mean turning off the bubbles, since you are ignoring all messages from the chat completely.

What I do is I go to my chat (/chat Pluppyz) and then I don't see any of that but it would defiantly help just to do that then go to my chat every single time I log on. Support!
