Some precisions for you guys :

We're not the ones making the cartoon. Everything is handled by the two other companies, Cross River and Believe Studios. So it's not hindering the development of the game.

The previous huge topic about a Transformice anime was a long time ago and related to another project. Some guys at a famous french TV station (M6) launched the idea, but it didn't take off, people there changed jobs and we've stopped all business with M6. Trust me, I would have loved to make everything in that document (hell, I was the one who launched it), but it's quite heavy and there was little chance it could have been done exactly the way it sits now.

This show teased in the Youtube video is a lot lighter, story-wise, and will be more action-oriented. Don't expect huge character development and adventurish story. I'll be able to tell more about it later.

Was it really necessary to use that janky ass 3D animation though.
Because seriously, it's just plain laughable.

We didn't get to choose. Budget is tight, some constraints happened, and 3D was the only choice. It'll be polished enough to make it as much 2D as possible.

It would never have been not tight. Making a cartoon demands lots of funds, and it's already quite a chance that the co-producers (Believe and Cross River) found enough money to make it at all.

It would never have been not tight. Making a cartoon demands lots of funds, and it's already quite a chance that the co-producers (Believe and Cross River) found enough money to make it at all.

I mean, given that it's being done by a company and the game won't suffer too much, my only issue now is... the server can't handle the influx of players who are now on summer break. How will it handle the even larger influx from the series and people curious to look?

A Transformice carttoon...interesting...
Shame it's 3D. And iI fear for the game's reputation if the cartoon is disliked.

The server issues we had lately were both hardware and software related, and it mixed up quite badly. It can actually welcome quite a lot of new players, but the connectivity issues lately tend to tell that it can't.
We've replaced 70% of our hardware, and we still have some software issues generated by the migration of important data. The database is getting more and more enormous, and deciding to split a chunk to another location is beneficial in the long run but quite a pain to do in the short term.

Besides, this show is more dedicated to actual Transformice players, we don't expect it to attract tons of new players.

Believe Studios is a super powerful Youtube network, Cross River a great cartoon producer, and if this experience is fruitful, we can imagine something on a much bigger scale.
