Sorry pals, but AS3 is a dying thing; they're cutting losses by ending support for it because it's cheaper to not have people dedicated to patching/working on their AS3 API.
HTML5 and mobile apps are where it's at.

One thing I might like to see is a replacement akin to the way Baffbot used to work with music - having a pre-approved list of MP3s (so it'd be completely controllable and copyright violations shouldn't be made). Sure there wouldn't be videos for this, but it's an option.

I don't understand the hatred for Vimeo. If you want more choices, upload them. It's not hard to rip a video from YouTube and then upload it to Vimeo.

What's due to copyright? Because nothing I stated has to do with copyright, and the discontinuation of the AS3 API's support is because AS3 is dying quickly.

I suppose it's more of a convenience thing. You have a fair point on just uploading them for more choices, but I guess people aren't willing enough to do just that. While on Youtube, on the other hand, they can easily search it up and load it to the game.
Though this is what I just think.
