Many people in TFM eventually quit the game or make new accounts while the old account stays and no one is ever able to use the name again. Take Ponz for example, remember in 2010 when he was #1? now he doesn't even play. So my question is, should the unactive accounts be deleted so their names could be used again.

No, the unactive accounts should not be deleted and stay.

cuz of it:

emberkitx a dit :
NOOO ecause I have so many accounts from 2011 that I lost and I have so many friends from then too and it'd just be unfair

there are so many people that have acc from 2010 or 2011 , so some people don't forget then and have friends and tribe etc etc

so I think the ADMs should delete fakes (0 cheese 'till 100 or 200 cheeses colected)

I think that players should have a "delete account" button for themselves, like I wanted the name "Hopling" at first and it was already created. so now i stalk the actual "Hopling" and he/she hasn't been on for a LONG TIME. SO I think that these accounts are all wasted space, but I do agree that hackers could use the "delete account" button just to distress people so I think that players should make their own deactivation code so that they can do it on their own accord.

there are still a ton of possible names to be created, however the people with names that are just random letters, I find to be annoying... especially when playing traitor. but still names with actual words in them are easily thought upon and many uncreated if that makes sense

I have to support. I know you guys are going to say" oh what about the famous people and the popularity and if they want to come back or if they got deleted accidentally?" 1. Famous people like Ponz shouldn't get deleted.
2. You guys can try to ask people to play transfornice. For example, my friend Leah, she told me about this game and how I should play it. After that I started to invite my sister and my sister invited her friends.
3. Why stay offline for two years. Is it because you got bored if it or you rage quit? Tell the administrations that you are going to come back to that account again and that you don't want it deleted.
4. Tell them through the forums. People will reply and then the admins will see it.

I believe, that it'd be nice to actually have names available. Other then just having to slap on extra letters just to make an account. However, there should be limitations! Like: The account could not be deleted, long period of time or not of absence if it has 500+ cheese!

HECK NAW, i go inactive for really long periods but always come back in the end, my account was made in 2012, i remember that in 2013 i probably didn't play once in the whole year, but now i play almost everyday, and who knows if i will stop for another year and then come back.

Its a great idea about the "Reusing names" thing, but what if someone was buddies with the person and the person that was recycled stayed on the friends list? The friend Friends list would probably glitch sense the player doesn't exsist.

I agree.I think there should be a delete acc button that only works on computer the acc was made.

Yes in my opinion unactive accounts should be deleted. In this case more usernames will be available to new members.

Woo! SITUATION TIME.

The forgotten - The question is, would they really return? Consider the following situations. Pre-solution
  • They moved on. Like their life cycle for gaming is over? Some people happened for that
  • Genre isn't suited for them anymore. This is mostly for kids, and will be SEEN as a kid's game, maybe they want more complex stuff?
  • They are in hiatus. I personally do this, so when I get bored in a game, I'll just "quit" then come back 3 - 12 months later, it really happens guys.

A subtopic: You know, the legends who have been... legends since they really never returned anymore. Well they would be terminated, but they would have a grace period anyway... below.

SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?
  • Announce the solution, like email everyone who is verified concerning this issue. Pass it on through social media, email, etc.
  • Grace period. All mice ARE PRESERVED. Those "inactive" meaning 1 year since they logged in, will be preserved for ONE MORE YEAR. I believe this is enough time to get back to their accounts.
  • Hiatus option. For those users who really love hibernating with more than 1 year, I think they should use like a vacation mode, this will make them change passwords then use that password to log-in again after a set period? (Well it can be flexible or have a time-lock option).

ARE THERE ANY LEFT OUT IN THIS SOLUTION
I guess those people who are ignorant of the game anymore, well that's fair enough. Those without technology to access the social medias, lolwat? The unverified, why didn't they verify?

Though there maybe some holes in this solution. Feel free to point them out

WHAT IS YOUR STAND?

I stand for a compromise, so everyone's happy. Anyway, slightly favored with support to this suggestion.

WHAT IS INACTIVE(for me)
1 year since logging in. Logging in would refresh the inactive countdown.

What happens when someone goes inactive?
They'd be e-mailed, and have a one month grace period, if they don't return, bye account.

This solution is sort of inspired in the game YPP(Yo-ho-ho puzzle pirates). They're unfortunately a dying game. But I digress

What's your thoughts on this solution?

But its not fair to anyone who wants a name that isnt and has never been used, ive seen tons of accounts with only 1-5 rounds played but never touched again.

its obvious they never really wanted to play the game if they never even got 1 cheese, i think there should be a limit to how many accounts someone can have and they should clear at least the inactive accounts that have nothing on them, 0 cheese and havent logged in for a long time.
