Personally, I believe that since it is their business, and they feel not all of the users who were a part of the mix up are deserving of the permanent ban, then they should be allowed to reverse those bans. It was dishonest of those users, yes, but curiosity and wanting to get items does get the best of people. They lost their accounts for a good year.

They are looking through and reinstating bans on those who were clear abusers, and I feel that is reasonable. This is a big decision on their part, we'll see how it goes.

Well I totally support this I'm glad the admins think that people deserve a second chance and their reasons were also important for players who didn't know about the steam fraud and they just used it thinking that it's how a purchase work in this game.

That's a very wise decision I appreciate it.

I was first first astonished when I heard about the Steam Fraud Desban. But, after reading Melibellule's post, I understood better the reason why the staff took such a decision.

There might be some players who really took advantage of the basic security features, though it was a 7000 accounts ban...
I am pretty sure that at least, 75% of those accounts were just victims of the security breache.

Humans can make mistakes and they took the responsability by "desbaning them"(And trying to ban the ones who abused of it).

Well, Transformice was dying and 7000+ active players is a big and important number , and as @Ragekitteee said
Ragekitteee a dit :
I am pretty sure that at least, 75% of those accounts were just victims of the security breache.

They were already banned for a year and that's enough i think, because they are different from the hackers and spammers etc... (Normal rules breakers) They didn't know that they'll be banned and all they wanted is fraises :p not like if someone downloads a hack thing and keep hacking and doing it and knowing that he'll get banned. That's a cool game, the goal is to play and have fun but when you realise that most of your old friends have been banned as victims, you'll just want to leave Tfm too. And that's not good for Transformice admins. So i think that was a good choice to unban them, and the idea of banning the ones who abused of it is also a good idea.

Unbalanced and desperate attitude to try to recover the players who lost, anyway, the game is still the same. I still do not agree with that decision. People who abuse faults in virtual games are always subject to consequences (in this case, permanent ban). Now you mean I can cloanr credit cards for a system failure, get stuck and then the administration say they solved the flaw and let me go? Open your eyes! That's a crime. Anyway, now reaching the point of the players who had no idea of what happened: Let's remember now, players who also had no notion of the portals in bootcamp and even so had their histories dirty by ban 168/360h without knowing what it was and Players who have had their accounts permanently banned after someone has stolen it because of a system crash or bug. Disbanding accounts for highly serious cases, but we have to accept that we are not able to question bans, whether light or not. This is turning a tremendous snowball and as always everything is pushed under the rug.

Disappointing.

Well, there's nothing to explain here but some players really didn't abuse of this error related to Steam Fraud, actually there are some players who have been banned without any reason, others players did it on others account that wasn't their own accounts, btw, the players who really made this mistake, they had their items removed from their shops in the game and don't have them anymore. It was a good punishment because they had their account banned for 1 year or almost it, I guess.

I'll have to agree with Anythin, it's a shame that a permanent ban doesn't always mean permanent. I understand the situation that was explained, and it makes complete sense, especially since free expensive shop items would attract a few types of players who are either too young to understand or are in a situation where they don't have access to fraises; but I always found that by banning the whole lot of players who abused the glitch -- especially the popular players/ youtubers -- it set a good example that just because an exploit exists, doesn't mean that you won't get away with it.

I am neutral on the mass unbanning of players affiliated with steam fraud, however I hope that the impression lasts for the future in case another situation occurs otherwise I don't think it would be wise to unban everybody again
