Spiritual Review Hello fellow shamans, We hope you are as excited for the new maps and updates this month as we are! We also want to highlight that the minimum difficulty range reduced from two to one. So, for those who want to play difficulty 8-9, now you can! Additionally we want to thank everyone who helped in the review this month, especially Bigerrol, Jennandjojo, Bahambug, Strawberry, Cass11337 and Mariluiss! We will also be implementing a changelog in the spiritual discord that we will use to do smaller updates in between months. Finally I want to note that we will be having a whopping 35 maps in submission next month, keep it up! Checkpoint! Results from Previous Review: Accepted (6) Arnees#0000 - @7826666 - Difficulty 9: This map has a unique stability concept that requires new methods to base. For now it will be rated difficulty 9 as it was somewhere in between 8 and 9, but it might go to difficulty 8 in the future. Arnees#0000 - @7841777 - Difficulty 9: An apple map with a lot of possibilities. Again the difficulty discussion resulted in a map somewhere inbetween diff 8 and 9, therefore, it will be diff 9 for now. Tadzio#2404- @7839843- Difficulty 8: This map allows unique and fun solutions and is therefore a nice addition to room spiritual. Bigerrol#0000 - @7835588 - Difficulty 7: Because of the multitude of ways this map can be solved we think this is a nice addition to the difficulty 7 category. Arnees#0000 - @7826659 - Difficulty 6: This kind of map is rather unseen in the difficulty 6 category as the grounds to stabilize your build are often not in range. We hope this map teaches players new skills so they are better prepared for the higher difficulties. Arnees#0000 - @7832344 - diff 5: This map is unique in the diff 5 range and pushes players to set their boards optimally, otherwise many obstactles are out of reach. Rejected (6) Arnees#0000 - @7829972: This map is rather generic and the acid is not the most challenge to work around. Yinjackson#0000 - @7832845: This map has a very interesting concept that could work for spiritual. We would feel comfortable adding this to the room if the solution at the right button did not feel so similar to the solution of the left button. We hope you can play around with the grounds on the right side (or maybe left side) so the solution is more unique for each side. Additionally, it would be nice if the hole and cheese were less dangerous (and more arneesproof). All in all this isn’t a hard reject and we would love to see this map in review again. Bigerrol#0000 - @3315422: While swinging with all this room can be fun, the map has some problem regarding execution and concept. The grounds are confusing, and the cheese placement is frustrating. Additionally, the acid does not really add much to the requirements of the build. Condensation#0000 - @7834745: While this is a nice puzzle initially. Solving it requires three runes and a board and that solution is not hard to find. Mice can troll the shaman to a degree that is beyond frustrating. And too much of the difficulty comes from just not dying to the acid. Biggerol#0000 - @7834472: The concept of a stability map combined with lava is interesting. However, for now the map lacks in execution. The mice can troll the build and the grounds feel like they are placed at random. Also the visuals on the cloud should be better. Additionally, getting a balloon stuck offscreen should not be the first solution we think about when seeing this map. Finally, play around with what methods for stabilization you want in this map. Mariluiss#0000 - @7491906: This is very interesting and good concept, one that could really fit into spiritual. Unfortunately, the map suffers from very simple box spawning which makes it unsuitable for rotation, as it has also done for other similar maps. The wind doesn't solve this issue unfortunately. Removed Maps (2) Bhvana#0543 - @7713667 - diff 5: This map has an unclear no-anchor zone and additionally it is not really clear that it is no-b, causing frustrations for newer players. Temple#0000 - @287449 - diff 4: While this map was awesome in the past, it got killed by updates. The fixes are a nice attempt to salvage the map. Unfortunately we now have a map that is too easy for low diff, but too difficult for low diff. If you understand the concept the map is not challenging, if you don't then it is very frustrating to play on. It is very unfortunate that this map got butchered in this way, however, we can't with good consciousness defend this map when its bringing down the new player experience. In the new version which will be exported on spiritualfix (until the original code is updated) the grounds are no longer unstoppable. However, they also won’t fall faster if there is a more weight on them (mice). Arnees - @2852108: Increased gap between anticloud and stone and updated the visuals. Arnees - @3141374: Replaced part of shamcage with anticloud, updated the visuals, removed ice grounds and added acid caging Arnees - @3761224: updated the visuals, added acid caging and updated the hole coordinates Arnees - @2799635: Changed hole position and added acid caging. Anthonyjones - @7326445: Visuals have been updated, map has become shorter by reducing the amount of buttons needed to press by one. Aleeeeeh - @998473 - diff 8 → @7844767: The updated version is shifted up to allow more solutions. Additionally it has choco to alleviate the troublesome walljumping that is required nowadays and the cage has been strengthened with acid. Voidmoon - @414660 - diff 7 → @7844771 - diff 6: The map is more clear now, which also allows the difficulty to be reduced to diff 6. Plubio - 6231001 - diff 9 → @7842949 - diff 8: This new normal gravity version removes some of the frustrating elements the old map had. Feniksboy - @7784374: The micespawn and hole have been updated so that the mice are less in the way of the build and to reduce the lengthiness of the map. This month there also were a lot of very good submissions with concepts that are just really creative, even the rejected maps this month were good. Zmiji#0000 - @7840157 - Difficulty 9 : Consider making the acid more clear and put the acid above the cloud in the map editor. attomake#0000 - @7844411 - Difficulty 10 : We want to see updates to the timergrounds so they are indicated better like in map @7849705. Tell us if you need help with this. (also will you tell us which of the two codes do you want to use?) Mariluiss#0000 - @7842639 - Difficulty 9: Can the No-b block be a bit smaller? readded maps: Spiritualfix - @7852113 - diff 8 Jeeed - @615238 - diff 6 Voidmoon#0095 - @235336 - Difficulty 6 Rejected (26) Xaxadoooooo - @3077365: While this map is executed well it misses the fun and exciting factor and it is quite linear. Antigravity is also getting overused in spiritual and is not considered fun by many. Mariluiss - @7837369: While it is an interesting idea to put the base point out of reach, the acid is very unforgiving and awkward to work around. Condensation#0000 - @7837239: While this map has something intriguing, it is awkward to build on and the cannon/sp/bloon/spam solutions typically take over. Xaxadoooooo#0000 - @7844301: The map doesn’t encourage unique/varied/interesting solutions. The wood looks good though. Karaka#0647 - @7843866: While the anchor point is an interesting and fun idea, the map setup doesn’t really lead to the interesting builds room spiritual is known for. Try and search if you can find a better use for it. Karaka#0647 - @7842935: While it is great that the sham has a lot of room to build and we’re definitely searching for those maps, the amount of options you have to solve this feels rather limited. Wiannix#7716 -@7815717: While swing maps are still fun for many players, we want other interesting solutions to be possible as well, which is kinda limited in this maps. Plubio#0010 - @7842137: This is an interesting concept and we would love to see this in a normal gravity version. The current map doesn’t mesh well with antigravity since the boards need to match well in antigravity maps, which is hard to do in this map. Plubio#0010 - @7841252: While this map has an interesting challenge for the sham the solid grounds don’t enable the sham to make really creative builds, I would love to see some edits of the solid grounds so more interesting solutions are possible. Additionally, there is an overuse of acid in this map making it frustrating to play. Plubio#0010 - @7841002 : The map has an interesting cage and noanchor zone. However the acid on top of the no anchor zone and antigravity requires too much precision. Additionally, there seems to be an “easy”/unbalanced solution. Plubio#0010 - @7841022: We feel that this map has potential. However, at the moment it requires too much precision, requires you to do the same build twice and there isn’t really a lot to work with from the base. Bigerrol -@7288253: The way the base needs to be formed in this map is very interesting and we would like to see this in future stability maps. However, we would like more options for the sham to create a base. Bigerrol#0000 - @7834734: We practically have this map in rotation, and this version is not better. Bigerrol#0000 - @7842449: This is an interesting map that has potential for future submissions, the path to the cheese is relatively diverse (even though swinging makes it a little bit unbalanced) and the solutions that can be performed on the left side can be really nice. The main reason it is rejected is that most solutions will just be a walljump, spirit, bloon, catapult up the left wall with making it rather uninteresting. Try to work with the range in the shamcage and the noanchor zone to really push these interesting solutions in this map. Bigerrol - @7838269: The concept of this map can work, however, the execution needs to be better. Initial quick fixing was done in map @7826662. However, additional work is needed. Suggestions are: make the wood thinner so less offscreen building is necessary. Allow a bit more time after the removal of the ground. The path to the cheese often is/needs to be built after dropping the build which is unfortunate and the main problem atm. With some changes this map can be really good. Bigerrol#0000 - @7819842: This is a decent improvement over the previous version with some interesting solutions that are possible. However, solving the map from the top remains rather uninteresting. The map has more potential than is currently being used and we like to see this improve further. Zmiji#0000 - @7839666: The cheese part in this map is awesome and we would love to see it again in a future map, the top part is not so interesting though as the airship that has to be made is a bit cramped (and not so new). Also, the hole is trivial. Zmiji#0000 - @7839250: The original version of this map was too complex and difficult to understand. This new update we see today is more interesting, however, the way to the hole is too cramped and awkward, additionally, the cheese part isn’t really challenging compared to the rest of the map. Zmiji#0000 - @7838411: Very interesting map that just didn’t make it in. There were some fun solutions, however, there are some unbalanced solutions and anticheats mechs didn’t do the map justice. Mariluiss#0000 - @7838625: While this is a creative use of the acid, it’s kinda pointless almost as doesn’t encourage creative building. Newen#6196 - @7815103: The map has a variety of possible building routes, however, unfortunately the acid is very unforgiving and the map is awkward to build on because of the acid, the out of reach dynamic grounds and the scroll. Condensation#0000 - @7839037: Decent map that barely didn’t make it. The challenge to mice and hole is interesting. I have a hard time to describe why it wasn’t accepted but in the end we felt it wasn’t “fun” enough because of lack of better words. Eyux#0000 - @7555555: This map has an interesting concept and with some reworking might fit well into the room. The issue right now is that you have basically nothing to start your build with, maybe a single starting ground below the sham might already solve the issues this map has. We would love to see this in submission again. Once you have an update submit it and we’ll look at it ASAP. 186: This map is good to teach players how to use acid, however, the challenge in this map isn’t really building but just placing a board on top of the acid. Arnees - @6298205: Map has interesting solutions, however, it is relatively cramped. Cantstope -@4999880: This map has too much challenges. Especially the button is overkill and causes confusion. The great thing about this map is getting the mice over the acid. We would love to have the map focus more on this concept.
