Multiply, darken, lighten, add. Not too much add, otherwise it looks like your ass is glowing. :P
I just color everything in as layers, and clip the shading layers.

I'll probably do a join.me soon and you can see how I do it.
I'm still learning as for the shading, but it seems to turn out alright.
