I agree with Mollocefalo, some maps are awful for some kind of categories, I cant imagine that this map @2319756, is treated like a "shortcut" map. I see NO shortcuts in it, sorry.
The same for these: @952958 and @2377058 (very crap map btw).
Tuliomumic's map, doesn't fit shortcuts category, in my opinion... It seems just like a lucky map, somehow.
Some maps are okay for their categories, but most of them, no.
Look Dollyblue's map: @313091 - It fits the category, lots of shortcuts and with cool gameplay. Maybe it has another good maps too, but he is my friend, so I knew his map.
I'm not telling this because my maps were rejected, by the way, I'm not the best mapper, maybe not even a good one, but some maps are really awful.
Anyway, I'd rather think that the maps are not chosen by the name of the owner.
Nothing more to say, I think. Let's see how the next contest goes...

^ This is exactly what these contests are about.
At least ever since .. Like.. June-July 2011

@2319756 - Hit the side/corner of the first tramp and you can go straight to the rotated tramp, get bounced up into the cheese and play on.

@2377058 - Three paths, all take different amounts of time. You can also get the cheese by the hole, taking a shortcut and going under the choco. I actually like this because of how the shortcut is intergrated into the map, and that players need to think before choosing their path.

@313091 - I don't know why this didn't make it. I don't think that this map should win, but it should be in the shortlist. I can add this map for voting if other contest people agree.

I'm not a fan of @952958 and I find Tulio's map OK but not great.

Yeah, also one more thing.
I editted my post to put in a new racing/shortcuts map, and I just checked back to my original post and it turns out my original map was still there.

Also, the Dandelions map was not included until recently due to a "c/p" mistake, and I don't feel safe thinking that MANY of the other people may have had their maps fail the shortlist due to similar errors.

The shortcut in @2319756 is the friction on the trampolines.
@2377058 has two shortcuts: one is obvious as all hell and the other involves a speed boost under the last choco. Also, this isn't an art map, ass. It's not supposed to come off as an image of cute kittens (please tell me @2412870 looks like crap too so I can know not to take you seriously). This map was specifically designed around play. Gameplay is not aesthetic; it's gameplay.

Also good to see the map you do like just happens to be your friend's.
