Spiritual Review Hello fellow shamans, Sorry for the long wait for this review. Firstly, I'd like to announce that I will be joining the spiritual team. From now on we will try to start reviewing maps monthly again. I'd also like to announce that the 5 map submission limit has been lifted. Also, the spiritual team is always looking for new members, feel free to apply if you want to contribute to map updates, difficulty voting, spiritual code, or anything else related to the module. Results: Accepted (4) Mquk#0095 (submission by Arnees#0000) - @160 - Difficulty 2: The large cloud ground provides a decent challenge for beginner shamans. Zetdey#3845 - @7799997 - Difficulty 5: Spiritual currently doesn't have a map where the shaman has to carefully maneuver dynamic acids in order to prevent mass death. Cave#0647 - @7861979 - Difficulty 8: The strong wind on this map encourages creative basing with the chocolate grounds. Cave#0647 - @7862171 - Difficulty 8: The shaman is given a lot of freedom in utilising the rotating circle, encouraging innovative and fun solutions. Pending (4) Attomake#0000 - @7848095: This map has some very interesting solutions but the length needs to be shortened in some way. Mariluiss#0000 - @7855436: Dislodging a dynamic ice from below is a unique attempt of the common removing ice concept. However, building to hole distracts from the main concept of the map and should be removed before this map is considered for rotation. Cals#0000 - @7855897: Generally, anticloud acid should only be used to prevent mice from standing and as such, the sides and the bottom of the anticloud acid should be changed to ice instead. For the design, don't use a rectangle for normal grounds as many non-minimalist players are confused by the collision properties. Cals#0000 - @7859284: The cramped space in the cage actually leads to some innovative solutions, however, the map needs to undergo some updates before being considered for rotation. The purple sticky ground should be removed entirely as it serves no purpose other than making the map more precise and the anticloud at the top needs to be fixed. As with the map above, change the rectangles to a different ground. Feel free to base your edits off of ours in @7875425 or even replacing it entirely with the XML in that map. Rejected (18) Xaxadoooooo#0000 - @7844301: Unclear what has changed since the last submission; the generic swing elements of the gameplay still remain within the map. Attomake#0000 - @7849779: Map is precise and frustrating to build on for most players. Attomake#0000 - @7850919: Poorly indicated dynamic ground where it's unclear that the ground can move vertically. Gameplay wise, the map feels quite long. Attomake#0000 - @7853303: Concept does not add anything particularly new to rotation, anticloud acid makes it precise and uncomfortable to build on. Condensation#0000 - @7853723: Inconsistent friction with the anticlouds. The way the cheese and hole are positioned within the cloud could be interesting, but the map needs a different layout as it currently encourages generic v swing solutions. Condensation#0000 - @7855708: The acid tunnel creates a forced path to cheese which seems to indicate a stability challenge, given the limited space. However the build itself is quite underwhelming and is more annoying to build on than difficult, especially for players with high ping. Condensation#0000 - @7856112: The map is a buildathon consisting of an extremely long bridge which is quite tedious and unfun to build. Fram#4747 (submission by Spiritualfix#0000) - @6112322: It's not immediately obvious that the high mass/damping ice grounds are dynamic. Concept breakable as the shaman can simply build a ramp to cheese without interacting with the ice. Plubio#0015 - @6120122: The acid obstacle is easily avoidable through cheat solutions such as spamming objects and ballooning yourself to the left side of the map. That said, the basing concept is executed well; we recommed changing the middle portion of the map and focusing on the start. Eltuyo (submission by Arnees#0000) - @4097914: While there is nothing particularly wrong about this map, it doesn't have any interesting aspects to make this map stand out. Eyux#0000 - @7555555: The anchor zone concept can be interesting, but with the current layout it is quite limited in solution variety. Mariluiss#0000 - @7855104: The obstacles in this map feel completely out of place and are essentially three different maps combined into one big map. Try focusing on one main concept. Cals#0000 - @7855866: Uninteresting swing heavy map where the layout encourages mice to wj to hole rather than for the shaman to build properly. Newen#6196 - @7841148: The map involves generic bridges and ramps, offering nothing new for rotation. Additionally, it's very confusing to build on in minimalist mode. Newen#6196 - @7835587: The grounds seem like they are randomly positioned around the mech. The mech itself has potential, but it's too easy to balloon the acid to circumvent the obstacles. Cave#0647 - @7861850: For now this map is too confusing, rejected until a better way to present the concept is found. Cave#0647 - @7862186: While the concept of the no collision rotating grounds is new, many players have found the large grounds confusing and overwhelming at first glance. Cave#0647 - @7862407: Despite the interesting layout, the gameplay is pretty underwhelming since the shaman can simply spam balloons and runes for support once they build their base. Removed (0) None. Difficulty Updates (1) Arnees#0000 - @7827777 - Difficulty 9 → 8 Map Updates (1) Yinjackson#0000 - @7605727: Slight aesthetics and gameplay change. Checkpoint! Spiritual Review Hey everyone! I apologize for my absence over the past several months. Fortunately, I am here to announce that I will be more active for spiritual reviews again. I would like to thank Arnees#0000 and our new recruits for covering the reviews while I’ve been gone. I will be here to make sure that review results get announced as regularly as they used to, so I hope you are all excited for that! On another note, I am also here to announce that Feniksboy#0000 is no longer in the Spiritual Team due to inactivity. Results: Accepted (1) Cave#0647 - @7868888 - Difficulty 9: This map is surprisingly great for creative and innovative dynamic solutions that can be done with the wind. The wind complicates the gameplay more for the shaman and it seems to enhance the concept with using the holes on the right wall for support. Overall, the concept actually seems pretty unique and might just offer new content that spiritual is looking for. Pending (0) Rejected (12) Cave#0647 - @7861842: This map forces the shaman to build with balloon ships, something that is ever present in spiritual already, and the lack of a ceiling makes building quite uncomfortable. The no anchor zone is also small and allows for the challenge to be bypassed easily, this map needs some kind of layout change to be considered for rotation. Cave#0647 - @7876534: It is much easier to solve this map without using the dynamic ice grounds provided, and the concept itself is already present in spiritual in some way or another, so this would not bring anything unique to rotation. Cave#0647 - @7865002: While the map presents a mildly interesting basing challenge to lower level shamans, the rest of the map consists of simple bridge building and leaves much more to be desired. Cave#0647 - @7865003: This map presents an anticloud stabilization concept that may be interesting for some newer players, but it doesn't bring anything necessarily new or unique to spiritual. Marshaylee#0000 - @7861524: The left portion of this map allows for some creative solutions but the right side is completed with generic v swings, perhaps some kind of layout change involving the right side of the map would make this map more fit for rotation. Bigerrol#0000 - @7860930: ]Not a great use of the one-way ground since it does not contribute to the overall concept and only removes the need to build upwards after cheese. Bigerrol#0000 - @7860167: This is a swing based map that does not offer anything new to rotation. Bigerrol#0000 - @7858350: The room the shaman has to work with is very cramped, and the way the wood is placed encourages balloon ship solutions over other more creative solutions, making the map unbalanced. Bigerrol#0000 - @7858320: This map offers plenty of solutions but none of them are particularly new or interesting. Tadzio#2404 - @7872423: Standard swing concepts have already been explored quite often in spiritual and the module currently does not need any more of these. Cals#0000 - @7874554: The object spawns are moved to a single location thanks to the large cloud ground enveloping the shaman cage. This forces the shaman to strategize with their object placements in order to create a pathway for the mice and to cheese. While it's an interesting concept to say the least, it suffers in the variety of solutions one can make. It is not a monosolution map, but the design does limit to you perhaps three solutions at most, making this not such a good environment for innovative or creative building. Still, it's intriguing that even with such a limited situation for the shaman, they are able to come up with a few different solutions. We recommend a layout change to prevent wj solus or at least make them less op. Overall, it is an interesting and worthwhile attempt at creating a novel idea for a spiritual map, but it needs improvements to its design before it can be accepted. Cals#0000 - @7875124: The build for cheese on this map is interesting but the hole is underwhelming, the layout concerning the hole should be changed. Join the discord with the following link: https://discord.gg/KZQQRRr Spiritual Review Results from previous review: Accepted (1) Cals#0000 - @7859284 - Difficulty 9: This is one of those few cramped design concepts that actually spurs innovation. While it is exceedingly difficult to create a path for cheese using conventional dynamic builds with v planks, it is actually pretty doable through uncommon spiritual techniques such as bridges suspended by v plank ropes. With the previous problems addressed, this map is now suitable for rotation. Rejected (1) Cals#0000 - @7855897: After discussing this map further, we have decided that despite the map's fun concept, it bears a resemblance to @6569675 and the challenge can be easily bypassed through catapults and the like. |

Spiritual Review Hi fellow shamans, A few changes have been made regarding how the spiritual team operates to hopefully improve the quality of our reviews. Firstly, from now on the announcement post will be made on the 1st while the checkpoint will be posted on the 15th of each month. This means that after the checkpoint is posted, we will review all maps posted between the last checkpoint and the 15th and post the results on the 1st of the following month. This gives us time before the checkpoint is posted to discuss any edits to pending maps, or other miscellaneous tasks such as map removal, difficulty updates or map updates. We’ve also already introduced the new pending maps in previous reviews, but since some players have been confused by this, we will explain it in detail here. Pending maps are maps that require a few edits before being accepted into rotation. After a given map is added to the pending list, we give the mapmaker 4 review cycles (usually 4 months) to edit their map. If a map is not edited by this date, we reject the map as the map has expired. The author is always free to resubmit their map if they have not edited their map in time. When a map is added to the pending list, it is shown in the Reviews tab under the Pending section. Whether or not a pending map is accepted or rejected is shown in the Pending Results tab. We’d also like to announce that Mastermind#6453 has joined the Spiritual Team. Results: Accepted (2) Obsyt#0000 (submission by Slipperyfish#3177) - @7826883 - Difficulty 4: While the building process is pretty generic, the layout is multipath, giving the player more than just one option in solving the map. The acid and slightly cramped design also makes this experience engaging for less experienced shamans. For a low diff map, it's not that bad and serves as a great introduction to acid grounds for lower diff shamans. Thekingwys#4005 (submission by Slipperyfish#3177) - @7883138 - Difficulty 5: The acid ground concept on this map is interesting for less experienced players with multiple paths to take. While not all the paths are completely balanced, taking into account the lack of acid maps in low-diff rotation, this map has been deemed suitable for now. Since all the acid grounds are anticlouds, using b-planks defeats the challenge of the map, indicating that the map was made for a no-b experience. As such, this map has been re-exported under Spiritualfix as @7883138 with the required no-b edits; the original map is @7819994. Pending (0) No new maps have been added to the pending waiting list. Rejected (11) Eduard11#2625 - @7876821: The acid is extremely annoying and could have been replaced with anticloud ice grounds. In terms of the gameplay, the building is nothing that hasn't been seen before and the layout is really similar to @2534197. To make matters worse, the map being symmetrical makes the experience even more mundane since there's nothing stopping the player from repeating the same solution on both sides. Eduard11#2625 - @7877117: Despite the fact that this map has only one normal ground to use for stability, it is surprisingly sufficient since it is in the top center of the map design. There seems to be a numerous amount of solutions available for the shaman to discover. As for balancing though, it's a problem since the map encourages swing heavy solutions. Another major flaw is that it's too easy for the shaman to just spirit the mice through the cheese objective. It should undergo some design change if the author wants it to be a decent spiritual map. Eduard11#2625 - @7877475: There seems to be a decent amount of solutions available on this map, however, beyond that, the design is actually pretty cramped and feels a bit restrictive for the shaman. The gameplay doesn't seem all that balanced either if you know how to force your shaman objects through the grounds. Most importantly, this map concept isn't even that unique. It is fairly engaging at the very least, but it doesn't appear to be spiritual material overall. Eduard11#2625 - @7606571: The building experience is not that exciting nor does it offer anything new. The only mildly interesting thing about this map is having the shaman interact with the ground that opens the mouse spawn gate, which happens to be rather glitchy. Even if we assume the switch works, opening the gate for mice is easily done by spamming objects. Mariluiss#0000 - @7877929: The design for this map looks interesting, but it doesn't seem like it offers a unique experience for the shaman. Now, the acid ground design deserves some recognition since it forces the shaman to build a certain way, but it doesn't really change the gameplay that much, in the end. In fact, it is more annoying than interesting since the acid walls and the acid interior of the cage only gets in the way for the shaman and the player, especially for laggy players. The only thing that should really be acid is the external ground facing the cheese. Additionally, there is no reason why the map needs to be symmetrical. Condensation#0000 - @7701165: This map is way too similar to @1410949 for it to be accepted. What's more, it is an inferior version of it since your version is much longer than the original. Truly great maps only have you interact with the concept as briefly and challengingly as possible. Condensation#0000 - @7696244: Another map in rotation already covers this challenge: @1796429. The building on this map isn't anything special either, it's just a typical bridge solution under a ground. The only positive thing that could be said is that the design's aesthetic looks nice. Condensation#0000 - @7688839: Just another generic monorail map that we've already seen in @227198. The only interesting aspect of this map is trying to figure out how to incorporate the build up to hole into your build, however this can be avoided entirely through the use of spirits or balloons. On a final note, the background on this map is a bit too bright and should be removed, especially when combined with the large no anchor zone. Condensation#0000 - @7687165: A map that has limited basing options, the shaman can really only spawn a plank then use a ton of anvils and runes to keep the build stable. Whether you use balloon anvils or not on this map, the gameplay doesn't change very much since you're always going to create a single bridge build in the end. Besides, countless maps in rotation already execute this concept in more interesting ways such as @198784. Condensation#0000 - @7686775: The map concept is actually pretty interesting, giving the player 2 balloons to work with despite restricting the spawning of balloons. It also makes for some fun gameplay among less experienced players who are just learning about stabilization building. Unfortunately though, the concept is breakable since the shaman doesn't actually need to use the angled grounds for support. Moreover, since spiritual cannot currently process no-balloon maps, this map can only be accepted without the restriction, making it a less interesting version of the map. In that case, the map doesn't have much to offer with the gameplay compared to other maps in rotation, which is really a shame. Condensation#0000 - @7675800: Another map that is limited in terms of stabilization options, and there are already maps in rotation that use these ideas. The builds seem to be limited to some kind of anvil-plank base followed by rune spam to keep them in place. The only positive thing that can be said is that its design aesthetic looks good. Overall though, this map is monosolution and rather unengaging, so it is definitely unsuitable for spiritual rotation. Removed (0) No maps have been removed. Zmiji#0000 - @7847404 - Difficulty 9: The concept of the map isn't one that is entirely new, however the actual gameplay is pretty enjoyable and the shaman is given a lot of options in terms of solution diversity; it's unique enough to stand out when compared to other similar maps in spiritual rotation. With the edits made to focus on building a bridge at the bottom, this map is now suitable for rotation. Rejected (0) No pending maps have been rejected.
