there's nothing wrong with staff using alts to moderate on though :p

Right but you missed out over where I just said "alt accounts". I have never seen another game where mod/administrative tasks were carried out on accounts nobody knows of. Seems to be the norm in tfm where you just give them to alt accounts, as opposed to proper accounts where they get known in the community.

some people wanna play peacefully on their mains in their off time, there's no harm in that
mods are players first etc
also there's some sites where people take on absolutely different personas and such

lets face it: if you had to deal with an ungrateful community on a public level you'd hang on an alt too so you could have an escape.

I am curious, if applications for moderators are closed, how are there new mods? Not that I'm complaining at all - I'm just slightly confused. Are these from the previous opening?
