Even though internet games are on a browser, that does not mean it can't be outside of a browser. You know all those downloadables games such as League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, Combat Arms, or any downloadable MMO games? Those are an examples games, which therefore, uses internet, and does not use a browser to play on it. Since a standalone basically means anything that does not include using a browser, those are all typically standalones.
