You can test it inside transformice, but it's just a test. This game will be played outside Transformice when it's done. (With same tribe, same friend list, and you'll be able to speak with a player in another game!

I never actually looked into Ace of Spades despite hearing a lot about it. D: Fortresse actually reminds me of awesomenauts more.

I'm really curious as to how this will develop now. I imagine a map editor and other additions in the future, but right now the beta is looking promising. There's certainly a fair few strategies teams can have together with such a basic platform.

Why not? Surely some sort of balanced upgrade or ability or whatever you want to call it will be able to reward those who manage to survive a few waves of other people. It doesnt have to be anything over powerful, just enough to give reward and incentive to those who can survive and kill the other team a bit.

Srs, you kill someone in 10 secs with a normal weapon and someone kills you in 8 secs instead

A well thought out ability or upgrade should give the game an extra layer of involvement. I'm not talking about something that annihilates the other team once it's acquired, but something that requires a bit of skill and luck to get and tips the scales slightly in one person or team's favour.

If it's done properly it should still be an equal game for both teams and it shouldn't undermine the pistol everyone gets. I don't know what the Dev's have in mind for it but from my experience playing it it has a similar feel to Transformice in that while teamwork and strategy will help your team to win, there's still that enjoyable sense of chaos that comes from running in Rambo-style and shooting wildly. It's not exactly doable as it is now but with upgrades/abilities it would be.
