If you're doing /friend Username way, they have to be online.
Or you can click their name in the name box (if they're in the same room as you) and click Friend. Then 'You are now friends with Username.' should show up. If not, then try again or ask a mod.

When i was new i thought you're new title would be on you once you received it. (I didn't understand "Type /title to look at the list of titles" or whatever)

awww cute melodicmelly, was pretty much the same for me too, i made an account in 2010, and found t4m via another gaming site. I remember thinking "this is too hard!" I then gave up on t4m and left (forgetting all about my username) and few months later 2011 appeared! and i came back to t4m i spoke to a girl in spain, and i remember asking her "how do i add red dots, how do i make things invisible ect ect ect" she taught me the basics! before i learnt the basics i would rely on the good hearted shams to balloon me up lol but slowely learnt not all shams are nice, and dont take pity on the newbies/noobs. I am glad to say i stuck at t4m and am very nearly at 20k saves. Anyways rambled enough, i still have the girl on my friends list to this day but sadly my teacher doesnt appear online anymore but i still will not remove her.

okk so I joined in 2010...long while back....and i started playing and I couldn't freakin wj and so I got aggrivated and I said to myself "this is game is stupid and bullsh*t" and I quit UNTILL umm i think it was late 2012, I was looking through my bookmarks and I saw tfm, I logged on and I'm like "woahhhh wut up with their outfits, they r so different" and then I went to shop and I saw fraises and I'm lik "wut the heck", I tried to buy things with fraises but i didn't hv any and so I was really stupid and got mad at myself again...but then I made new friends and understood everything again..
