While I agree it's ridiculous (and I also agree with Spin that most of the people applying can't tell the difference between hack and lag and a bug), I don't see why there needs to be all this drama and outcry.

At the same time though, it's not like they're saying HERE GO HACK USE HACK BE FREE WITH HACK GET CHEESE WITH HACK
You go into a private room on an alt and you check and be done. That's all.

Don't really see why this is needed. As others have stated, I'm sure mods do keep an eye out and should just continue to do so anyway?

Problem here being that most of the ones who did do this actually left/were fired in disgust at the Admin team's recent actions, despite many offers of compromises and meetings to sort out the situation.

Which is why I believe it's just a reaction to Atelier suddenly realising that without many of their volunteer staff, they're in a bit of trouble.

I assume they'd only be allowed to test in certain rooms, which would mean the autoban thing would only be disabled in those rooms. HOWEVER, I believe it would be much better to do it on a seperate server.

Edit: Well, if the autoban actually detected those....... lol

Agreed, a private testing server would be 10000000% better.

No age limit, No maturity needed, No application, just a paragraph then you can go and test out hacks. Top idea!

Uhuh, and the server mods have been requesting since the beginning of time to beta test big updates would be awesome too... I'm sure it'll come ANY DAY NOW :P

I can't see it happening :(

I believe the old justification was that Arbs are not "publically listed", so it was ok. I wonder if these hack testers will be forced to lie too?

Since it's secret there doesn't need to be a limit, similar to vote crew.

Spinnando a dit :
They should have a proper application form for this, something similar to what they have for moderators, but with more questions about hacking experience.

Seconding this, it was the first thing I though when I saw it; How would they even know if people are trust worthy only after writting a paragraph on "why you want to join"; But honestly I prefer not being so dark about this, since we don't know much about it. Probably they shouldn't have said that testing is involved. And after choosing the people simply asking them if they want to.

Also I've seen a lot of people saying that found in the past in dark corner of internet free things, hacks and what so ever. Doesn't it make them look well...uhm.. I mean was it really needed?

I think another funny part is like "mods can go stalk them to make sure they aren't abusing" and then there goes mapcrew abusing and stuff

Your responces are hilarious, keep it up! I can't stop laughing :D

Heh, maybe some "spy" can get Tig to install a virus/trojan.

I find the whole "Tig's spy group" idea hilarious. I already see delicious drama incoming. Great thing.

Why is it that the OP of that announcement thread didn't say anything about testing hacks? It /is/ the thread where they'll decide who to recruit. It would be nice if they edited that in, it could let people know what they're getting in too... (not that it'd hinder the the amount of apps they'll recieve)
