also bot-run bootcamp because it was more niché (lolol hipster) and people didnt go there to farm bootcamp completions. the day bootcamp became an official gamemode was the day it lost much of its magic.

I wasn't there to play bootcamp before it became an actual game mode but if its map rotation consisted almost entirely of the bland cornerjump/turnaround permutations that most older bootcamps seem to be I can't imagine it being much more fun than current bootcamp.

The worst thing about old TFM is the hackers(I remember playing with like 7 dudes who were flying everywere and ppl wouldnt ban because "they werent taking firsts). Now all the skill trees(EZ mode), Divine mode(Literally taking 1,5 minutes for 90% of shams to build 2 planks), Consumables like beach balls and snowballs, statpadders and some other minor things made the game worse.

I miss the 2011 Tfm. Had friends who actually were over 12years old, no fraises, skills or the new useless upgrades. There were actual pros, and all of the mice were together, not in different servers. Everyone knew what means brb, ikr etc. It was a lot funnier.

I really have no idea...

I miss a lot of things from older versions, like:
-The simpler look. No furs, less emotes and buttons, etc.
-More mice in a room. I miss when Room 1 would get over 50 mice in the room.
-Cheeseformice rankings. It seems it stopped working properly a while ago, and few people care about stats anymore.
-Mod presence. I don't know if there are actually less mods, but I rarely see them in the game anymore.
-Certain maps and minigames, like the reverse controls/upside down vanilla maps and baffbot.

However, I like new Transformice better. The shaman skills and leveling system give a goal to the game that nets you fun rewards, and makes each sham more unique. There are a bunch of new minigames users have created. There's so much more you can do with making maps now, too. We have furs and more items, and even inventory items and badges. There's finally a gifting system, and we have Hard Mode and Divine Mode, which inspire more creative/interesting builds. The forums are loads better too, though I dunno if that counts. Although I liked the simplicity of older versions, it's nice having more options and stuff to do in the new Transformice.

I have only been here since 2013, so I can't really talk about "old transformice", but it's true that many of my friends aren't playing now. the events are more grinding and dull to me but maybe it's just because the lack of playing with friends? rooms also seem so empty, survivor2 used to be one of my favourite rooms to play in and now there's barely anyone there in the en server. the new vanilla maps aren't as fun as the old ones and I still feel like they're not really vanilla maps.

still sad because I can't make new friends in this community, the amount of people yelling at you for everything you say discourages me from talking to people.

the map rotation is a minor problem for me compared to the people that go there nowadays. not for the sake of completing hard maps just lurking and skipping room after room until they find some gastlyguy-difficulty-tier map to 25-up their stats. adding bootcamp completions to mice profiles was a big mistake in my opinion. the (majority of) maps created nowadays are bad too though. just lava and water spam, ugh. they all kind of look the same that way, but maybe this is all just my bad taste for maps.

I think most people stopped caring about CFM loeaderboards altogether around the point when everyone was requalified and glitching/account sharing became acceptable practice for inflating your rank. As far as mods are concerned there are definitely less of them around, though this seems to finally be getting fixed.

Well I usually stay in a single bootcamp room (bootcamp1 on either en server typically) and while the fluctuating mice count isn't that annoying I definitely think individual bootcamp completion should be emphasized over raw bootcamp cheese. As far as the rotation is concerned, I prefer the newer maps since they're usually more challenging/complex but it rlly seems like barely any new ones (like really recent, @5000000+) get added anymore, and many of the ones that do get added are pretty simple/generic so yeah I'm taking a break from bcing atm.

I wasn't aware they did that. I guess that explains why my CFM ranking randomly dropped 1,900 places in a single day sometime around late 2013.

I miss the old one ;c

I mostly miss the events. They were simple but fun. Now it's kinda boring and it just looks good. In the old tfm everyone had a unique style, but now it's like this: You need to buy fraises to have a good look and be ''cool''. I'm not saying that I haven't bought fraises or anything like that, but..

I also hate the fact that now half of the people who wouldn't get first, would yell at the one who did got first or at the shaman because they're ''noob''. And by every single thing people go and swear at people. I don't remember if there was that much swearing back then, but they do swear a lot in the NL community now.

It is a minigame. You can find it in the mode Module. It has the textures, and yeah you get the idea of it.
