thisket a dit : I spend alot of time on the forums, and on transformice I lag ALOT. And "get a new computer" isn't the right answer. If I told my dad can we get a new computer, he would look at me like I was crazy. So I lag alot which means I won't get cheese most of the time. That is why I barely play transformice. I only have like 100 cheese last time I check. If transformice gave a notification saying you need to earn 500 cheese if you don't your account name will be deleted I would be mad. |

/half support Sure, this clears up many inactive names. This I like. But then comes the tricky bits. As mentioned by many people above, what if one has to go away for a long period of time for whatever reason? What if one doesn't even use the email associated with the account anymore? What if some modules still save that player's stats using the old file system? People could just get free things?! (playerData would be easier, tiggy could just delete the playerData associated with the account) |

I'd rather like to see name variations added rather than peoples' accounts get deleted. There goes people having a tiny break and fraises down the drain, and never coming back again. Variations using different characters such as " _ " and " - " in your name, or even a few numbers (as much as I hated numbers). Dernière modification le 1404500940000 |

No support, I was actually gone for one year from Transformice, doesn't mean that I ever wanted to be gone forever. Besides, I wouldn't want a few years of stuff down the drain. |

I've seen this suggestion many times on TFM and other games and honestly it always comes across as people being just as greedy as those with tons of alts - essentially you want names to be deleted for "inactivity" so that you can use them. It just comes across as hypocritical. You shouldn't have to worry about losing all of your progress, cheese, titles etc just because you have a bout of inactivity. Even a year is not truly that long. What if someone is in the military? What if they have unavoidable issues that prevent them from getting on the computer? There are plenty of reasons that people can be pulled away by more important things and they shouldn't be punished by losing their account due to inactivity. Lets face it, if the name you want is popular and it's taken then you need to just think of a new name. All of the names I go by outside of TFM are taken by other users but I never fussed over that and I would never demand that those names be recycled so i have a "chance" to get them. It's first come, first served on any site that involves accounts and that is how it should be. |

isnt tfm implementing the name change system anyway i think it was like usernames with under 100 cheese from around 2010 being deleted/usable. i think thats fair |

/nosupport for this idea. However. Maybe: Once a certain time has been reached, without an account being used, they receive a notification. if this still does not get replied to, the account is kept in the data base, but deleted off tfm. A new user can now claim the account, but on the profile (but nowhere else like chat, game e.t.c) it must say Username (2), or however many times the username has been used. So if its the 5th time someone has claimed it, "Username (5)". The person who used to own the account, decides to come back on. After using the username and the same old password, the game automatically notifies the person their account has been deleted in-game and someone else is now using that name. It then allows the user to "Change their username". This would incur so that, once it is changed, the profile says "New Username", and right underneath it in smaller text "Formerly known as... Username (1)". This would work so that the account stats e.t.c are always available for their use, and people can know if they have had their username changed. I know this would cause a lot of people going inactive just to have their name changed, but I can't think of anything to stop that. Anyway that's my rant about my idea, the main focuses like, being able to know they were formally blah blah blah, allowing them to keep their account stats on a different username e.t.c, would change my nosupport to a support |

I like the idea of usernames but, i do NOT like the idea of me losing some of my old old tribe members. I have had my tribe for years and years now, and Last week a member who hasnt logged on for 2 years came online. Joined back in the family. My idea is like you said as a suggestion, 1k cheese and your username is safe, as well as fraises or a email registration is a safety. :/ just my opinion. Edit~~~ No support. changed my mind. Once you put down your name in tfm it should stay. Ever heard the term "gone but not forgotten?" I have, and I agree. I rememeber people from 4 years ago and in my opinion, they are part of tfm's history, and their name is their identity. Just add #s to usernames. :P I dont like the idea but hey whatever works. /support This would be nice but there should be some kind of warning before your account is deleted like a email to your email address warning you your account is about to be deleted which should happen like mabye a week or so before it happens? |

/support. I think people from 2010 who haven't been on since need to go. Several people take usernames just to take them. It's not fair for people who have new accounts or want to make new accounts to have fewer options thanks to trolls or people who forgot their passwords or usernames. This is much related to name change, Emberkitx a dit : This is related to name change, It won't delete anything If you have 1000 cheese your account will be locked admins said 1000 cheese would lock your account for sure, and maybe even less. Mizithra a dit : Pretty much this. You all want names like Kitten and Pikachu to be freed up so that you can rush out and take those names for yourself and probably never actually use them, just like the original owners. Deleting all accounts that have been inactive for a year regardless of how much cheese they've collected is a terrible idea. If tfm was to implement any system meant to prune inactive accounts it should be some minimal cheese collected stat that allows an account to stay, like 100 cheese. Anyone who hasn't played enough to earn 100 cheese and hasn't logged on in years probably doesn't care about their account and isn't coming back. If all accounts are deleted regardless of stats that will most definitely lead to older players attempting to come back only to get an incorrect password message and probably decide to leave when they discover that their account – with all of their purchased items, friends list, and tribe – is gone. As for having usernames of famous mice being open again...uh yes, that would be a problem, I don't understand how anyone thinks it wouldn't be. If mods who resigned over a year ago are still getting reports I'm pretty sure if someone created their own Jkdfi account it would lead to confusion, and it would be even worse for once top-ranked players. I don't support having all of my old friends lose their accounts just so that some kid can go around thinking he's special because he nabbed Ssk after the original Ssk's account was deleted. |

Above comment makes a lot of sense. Important to take from this, though, is the amount of accounts that are under 100 cheese. There are many many hardly used but still taken names and that's why this suggestion is here. |
