Great update. Just have to get used to it, I keep going to the menu to get to my friendlist/tribe, and then I realize the buttons are down by the chat box :P

I wouldn't consider it convenient that I have to move my cursor about 800 px now only to close my friendlist after opening it, when before it was about maybe 500.

A hotkey for the friendlist is something that would be convenient. I will never use those arrows to scroll in the chat because I have a scrollwheel, like a hotkey for scrolling, which is convenient.

I find inconvenient in the sense that it's different from the same subconscious action that I have been doing for the past 4.5 years or so. Not that accessing the friends list and tribe list hasn't changed before but they stayed in the same general area, but in this update they are on the complete other side of the chatbox, and it's placement just seems unnecessary in the general sense. It may just be my experiences but I have never seen a friends list accessible in this fashion; that area is mainly used for switching between chats with a private chat with a user or public chat.

No, it has a poor, ugly, layout and the arrows are less convenient than a scrollbar. They could have kept the scrollbar and still introduced the new arrow system.

There are improvements but they are overshadowed by poor design choices.

Maybe that's where you keep your cursor but not all of us do. My mouse is normally sits right below the box so if anything, it's easier to open friends and tribe. I agree hotkeys would be A+ though.

Yeah, I can dig that. I think it's because they're trying to make everything chat wise...closer maybe?
And yes, I understand that, and I'm finding myself absentmindedly clicking menu but I'll get used to it in like a day or so.

Well, atleast on my surface pro if I forget the mouse somewhere. Also the mouse's scrollwheel is broken and randomly decides when it does or doesn't wanna work haha. :[

I've never owned a laptop that has, nor have I ever used one that has that wasn't expensive. :S

e// Both of my laptops are in the absence of these scroll wheels, and I've never seen such things in any Best Buy or computer store. They do seem pretty useful, though. I'll be looking for them the next time I shop for a computer :b

Last three laptops I've had going back to 2008 (an IBM, an HP and now a Dell) have the side bar like I spoke of so I assumed it was common nowadays, so no, it's not obvious. Sorry.

I think you guys are talking about a literal scrollwheel. I'm talking about a little spot on the edge of the touchpad of your laptop that you can roll your finger up and down.

I like this for the new members, but for ones who are not so new to the game, I suggest putting the options in the menu AND in the chat bar, but we get what we get and don't get upset so yeah :/
