Hello shamans, it's the time again! Here are some quick changes that happened in the past months:

  • Divinity applications are now closed until further notice.
  • You can now vote on maps and voice out your opinions on any maps in the rotation in our new #map-discussions channel.
  • You may suggest other P4/P1/etc. maps that are not yours in the #map-submissions channel (NOTE: This will not count into your forum submission limit, however rules still apply).
  • Slipprs#0000 has rejoined the Divinity Team! Welcome back!

As we move along, you may notice that a bulk of our community interaction has moved over to Discord. Discord has proven to be the choice of our community platform as it's way more versatile than the forums, and allows us to respond much more quickly. We do however understand that some of you may not be able to own a Discord account for various reasons – but fret not as our forum PMs are here to stay! Feel free to reach out to us for any clarifications/reports/suggestions that you have.

  • @7856765 - Well demonstrated concept of balancing using weights. Recommended edits: 1. Additional support for the cheese - although this may not be fully used in some solutions, having an option to stabilize such a long bridge is always good; 2. Indication of object collision

Karaka#0647
  • @7857613 - Interesting concept but its gameplay can be too short and dull over time. Eventually players may find themselves completing the map within 10% of the given time. Please revisit the layout of the map to balance the gameplay of the map, and change the timer ground so it's less confusing for minimalist users.

Xaxadoooooo#0000
  • @7856440 - The concept of removing the three very big planks seems a little difficult for low-diff in the current layout and as such the shaman will likely resort to spam out of frustration. Furthermore, it is mostly out of the scope of Divinity. Although the concept may change, we found the layout good for the category, and as such we recommend that you remove the planks, or consider changing it into something like this. Additionally, remove the no-balloon tag as it has no purpose in this map aside from limiting build diversity.

Stargazing#0010
  • @7857216 - Similar to @7855419, but if given a choice we'd prefer the latter as acids only increase the chances of accidental death.
  • @7855419 - While the map appears to be difficult at first, it really didn't take much to complete the build due to the space provided. Furthermore, the map would be better if it added to the gameplay by making use of both sides of the map. As it currently stands, once players figure out a base between the two wood grounds, they just have to construct an uninteresting bridge and ramp solution.
  • @7841035 - The symmetry of this map makes this repetitive, and the slits limit the creativity pool of solutions. Although it may not be a bad map for newer shamans to experience, it fails to bring in value to the existing antigravity rotation

Condensation#0000
  • @7855708 - Good aesthetics and a clear indicator of anticloud acid! However, with the current layout of the map, especially the angle change, it forces the shaman to make a very precise and awkward build. Combining how little support there is in the middle, lag, and acid’s deceptive nature, it ends up as a pretty frustrating map to build on. Consequently, the map focuses on avoiding narrow acids than building precisely. It's also lacking in content since it's only one single path to take. Thus, shamans aren't provided with any creative direction and path variety.
  • @7853723 - Too simplistic and flawed design. Concept better explored by @2551172. Obligatory "Shaman cage serves no purpose given how the shaman retains spawn range over the whole map. Furthermore, shaman cage has no cheese+hole

Karaka#0647
  • @7857614 - The concept is relatively simple, and a timer is unsuitable for demonstrating this. Switch would be more appropriate.
  • @7857615 - Interesting concept. However, it doesn't have a high replay value. The high wind is quite annoying since it pushes the mice and build with full force to the right without opportunities to stabilize the cheese part after the timer runs out. It would be better if mice were placed within shamans range as its difficulty depends on whether mice are afk or not. Please remove the anchorable ground and mice collision from the rightmost wall

  • @7841148 - Generic, poorly designed low-diff map.
  • @7835587 - Acid mech is interesting. Rest of the grounds are poorly placed and there is no need for scroll.

  • @7831980 - Good effort made for aesthetics! However, the wall serves no purpose as shamans can simply wrap their base around the middle wood
  • @7799148 - Cramped and awkward layout with confusing collision of clouds

  • @7848056 - While the dynamic concept of this map is interesting for some players, we find that the concept is not direct or obvious enough for the rotation. Additionally, the anti-anchor mechanism bugs often
  • @7846374 - Due to the influx of maps with similar anticloud concept, and as this map does not add value to the rotation or look visually appealing, we're unfortunately rejecting this. Please avoid making symmetrical maps if they don't need to be, as it just results in the shaman doing the same build twice. Also, try not to overlap cloud with the visible part of the anticloud as it looks ugly and is hard to see
  • @7846715 - Visually unappealing, weird placement of dynamic. Acid grounds aren't used to their full potential.

Portwave#8221
  • @7852073 - Acid grounds could be replaced with any other grounds and have close to no impact on the gameplay. No need for the cage either. High anti-gravity pushes for a precision build or cheat solutions and should be fixed by increasing the size of the platforms and reducing the antigrav to a comfortable value

  • @7857862 - Shoddy map design and confusing collisions.

Skyler#7183
  • @7856315 - Generic flat bridge building map, and obstacles lack value unlike in the original map (ref @7780677)
  • @7857886 - The map's symmetric layout is frowned upon, and the high gravity does not make the experience any better. Generic building in which both sides are repeated with no variation. It seems that the switches do not add much value to the map and could be simply replaced with a mouse spawn or alike.

  • @7854931 - Shoddy map design, layout and alignment which looks all random. It appears that obvious cheat solutions are not being accounted for.

  • @7854719 - Map was changed significantly after the checkpoint, please don't. Furthermore, grounds with fake properties (wood having 0 friction and ice having 0.2 friction) are greatly frowned upon.

Yinjackson#0000
  • @7853664 - The map concept is a unique and interesting one! However it appears to be very time consuming when completed in divine mode due to the mechanical intensity of the map. Unfortunately, this map seems to be rather challenging to fix for Divinity to be less tedious, and at the same time without making it too easy or hindering the pinching power. Until a way can be found, you may want to try submitting this to #spiritual.
