I honestly stopped givin a damn about staff long time ago (I only applied recently to Funcorp as I would've enjoyed those powers, but the staff decided to give the position to the usual well known individual because they know them better and silly motivations like that instad of making a bit of scouting first) as staff disappearing is normal course of events.

In defense of Mods, you may see MODX being there only for 5 months, but such person was in a staff position for at least a year prior, it often happens life hits you and moderating a mouse game is not a priority anymore. I won't complain that much about that.

About smaller communities. Better be modless than with staff tbh. Last time we got Moderators in the Italian server it was a nightmare as they straightaway abused in a fashion way of their powers as the language barrier was a a way to defend themselves of any accusation of abuse of power. I wont say the moderation team killed the italian server but it helped that a lot, as many left because they there muted or banned on sight and complaining bringing actual proof was worthles.Beside of that a report for hack can be seen by any mod, and that's all players should honestly care about.

Regarding the Funcorp applications, we're still working on them. We received a loooot of applications so we've been voting/hiring in batches. I imagine we will make a post once we've finished sorting through them.

Even if it doesn't seem like a staff member is that active, there is still a lot of things that go on behind the scenes that you don't see, such as voting on applications. The staff members that are less active in-game often spend a lot of time and effort on these things. If a staff member is truly inactive, we do remove them from the team and give them a chance to come back in the future when they are more active. Since most of the staff check the forum daily for messages, I don't see the problem with keeping slightly inactive members on the team. Not to mention that the process of sorting through applications and training a staff member takes months. It seems kind of silly to fire the staff member and try to start all over again when they are still contributing in some fashion.

As for hiring staff from other communities that don't have a publicized application process, we added this to our FAQ last time this came up. If someone is interested in a staff position for these communities, they can message any public moderator and we will send them the application form ourselves. Their application is then voted on by members of ALL communities, so we do contribute to hiring staff members from these communities. Since most of these communities peak at maybe 10 players, contrary to your belief, it is actually really hard to find someone suitable for the position. That is why we take all of the apps that we do get seriously and spend time to see if they would be capable filling the position.

Moderators take care of reports from all communities when they are in-game, so we often have 10+ whisper tabs open at a time. If we were to spend time on projects such as the ones you mentioned, it would take away time which we could have spent moderating/improving the game experience for our community. It simply just isn't reasonable, especially if we were to remove members from the team as you also suggested.
